Trinity Baptist Church
Rejoice Trinity, it is the Lord’s Day and I hope and pray that this devotional will be a source of encouragement to us all. Due to the limitations of this means of communication the following is not an exhaustive exposition of these verses but a focused walking through the text for the glory of God and to strengthen us at this critical time in the life of our nation. Let us begin.
I think that it would be beneficial for us to consider four verses in 1 Timothy chapter 1. These are the following:
1 Timothy 1:1–2 (NASB95)
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Savior, and of Christ Jesus, who is our hope,
2 To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
16–17
16 Yet for this reason I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Jesus Christ might demonstrate His perfect patience as an example for those who would believe in Him for eternal life.
17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
As we consider these verses in Paul’s first letter to Timothy Let us not lose sight of how Paul begins this letter: Notice in Verse 1 that God is our savior and Jesus is our hope. What this means is that there is not a chance of failure in our salvation nor in our future security since God himself has accomplished it. Verse 2 focuses us on the fact that our faith, grace, mercy and peace begin and proceed from God the Father and God the Son, Jesus. This is so reassuring, and should compel us to take courage as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father because of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ. Verse 16 Our faith in Jesus’ ability to change individuals, such as Paul and ourselves, serves as an example and give us an objective reason to have confidence that God the Son has secured for us eternal life. Finally let us consider the greatness of our God.
Verse 17 provides us with a doxology recognizing the greatness of our God. Even though we may see the world around us in turmoil our attention should be fixed on the God who is the fountain of our security in this life and the next. My translation of this verse reads like this:
‘Now, To The King Of The Ages,
Imperishable/Immortal,
Invisible,
The Only God;
Honor and Glory
Into The Ages of The Ages,
Truly
The Eternal King
There has never been a time when God was not the ruler of all things. This is a source of great comfort for his people. Because he is ever in control of the events that unfold in our lives. But remember he is never the author of sin.
He Does Not Change
God is perfect and so there is no need for him to change. Because he does not change this means that he lives eternally, and we have a living unchangeable hope as the basis for our security now and forever. There is no variation or shifting shadow.
He Is The Supreme Spirit And Is Superior To Any Created Thing Visible Or Invisible
God is beyond the created order and is not limited. He exists! Because he exists all other things come into existence and continue in existence. This type of power is beyond our understanding but not beyond our human experience. The Creator of all things that we know and see is for us, this gives us a confidence in him and his self-revelation the Bible. The Word of God is the lamp that we are to use during these storms of life. God is not a man that he should change.
He Is The Only God And Eternally So
From everlasting to everlasting he is God. In the beginning God! This is probably the most profound statement in the whole counsel of God. God existed and all things proceed from his word.
Trinity this is our God! Behold him! Let us take courage in our Great God and live in his power for his glory.
Please pray without ceasing, read your Bibles, live out your faith, proclaim the good news of God, and give a reason for the hope that is in you.

A letter from the Elders-
Good afternoon brothers and sisters,
The purpose of this message is to maintain some type of continuity between our normal practices of worship and instruction during this rapidly changing time of crisis in our nation and our state.
I hope that we are all living for the glory of God by the power of the Holy Spirit because of the redeeming work of Christ on behalf of his people.
We should realize that these times do not change our biblical responsibilities:
1. To glorify and give thanks to God;
2. To pray and serve God;
3. To grow in the knowledge and understanding of God;
4. To instruct our children about God;
5. To serve others in the name of God.
These actions are carried out in the church from two approaches:
1. Informally by the individual or family
2. Formally by the elders of the church
One of the historically effective methods of instruction is through a question and answer format known as catechism. Baptist have been using this method of teaching at the individual and family level as well as the congregational level for centuries. The first Baptist catechism was in the 1700’s. We have gone through the Baptist Catechism adapted by John Piper as a church and currently we are going through Keach’s Catechism. These are the questions that have been included in our church bulletin and are very profitable for growing in knowledge of God and in his will for his people and for acquiring Spiritual wisdom and understanding. Catechizing is a method by which we can transform our minds into the mind of Christ.
So on Wednesday we will be continuing with the questions from Keach’s catechism in the same order that has been followed in our bulletins. Our desire is that you will take advantage of this time to grow in and to teach the things of God because his word is truth and it is by his word that we live for his glory and strengthen the next generation of believers. We encourage you to look up the Scriptures and to read them in the context of the paragraph in which they are found and to think about them and discuss them as God provides the opportunity.
May the Lord keep us until our next appointed time.

A. We are made partakers of the redemption purchased by Christ, by the effectual application of it to us (Joh 1:11-12) by His Holy Spirit (Ti 3:5-6)
From the Elders at Trinity Baptist Church-
Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope that we are all doing well in our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. We, the elders (Jason, Bob, and myself) have been praying for you all and will continue to pray for us all during this time of uncertainty.
We have been thinking of ways that we can shepherd one another (one-anothering) during this challenging period. Here are some suggestions:
First remember that God is in control.
Second call one another using the church directory. Call the name above and below yours to encourage and to pray. If you need a church directory, please call the church office and we will get you one.
Third if you are able to volunteer to help those that are limited in the church please send an e-mail to the church secretary, Rebecca or to Carolyn or to me. Call the church office, if we don't answer leave a message. The voice mails will be checked daily.
Fourth if you need help with food, groceries or picking up your medications at the pharmacy let us know.
Last but most importantly pray without ceasing.
We will be starting a weekly devotional soon. We will make weekly decisions on when we can gather in compliance with the most current governmental guidelines.

There will be NO teaching at Trinity Baptist church the entire week of March 16th-22nd. There will NOT be biblical greek on Monday March 16th. There will NOT be bible study on Wednesday March 18th. And there will not be a worship service Sunday March 22nd. This will be readdressed week to week as we move forward until the Coronavirus has settled down. In addition, our website is in transition so it may be a week or two until the sermons start being uploaded again. We will send out weekly emails to address the decisions week to week.
Brothers and Sisters, remember, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
As of this time the plan is too meet as usual on Sunday. We will update if there are any changes. We trust that if you are not feeling well you will keep yourself home.
On Sunday, March 15, 2020 Elder John will be bringing the message from Exodus 20:13 as we continue through the Commandments.
