Shortly after 11pm Tuesday Lake County Sheriff K9 โDaxโ escaped his handler for the second this time week. Helicopters, ATVโs, & Multiple Departments searched the area of Oak Knoll Golf Course and Court St in Crown Point late Tuesday.
Around 2AM Wednesday officials called off the search and will resume again in the morning. Itโs unclear at this time how Dax escaped Officer Angelika Ventrice again. The K9 who is brand new just arrived after training last week from Canada from Baden K9 with two other dogs.
If you see Dax you should immediately contact 911 and do not approach.

"A D.C. area couple faces federal charges for allegedly arranging the sale of dynamite and other powerful explosives online. Brittany Nicole Adams, of Maryland, and Steven Anthony Benson Jr., of D.C., were indicted Wednesday and taken into custody Friday. Federal prosecutors say they advertised dynamite on the website OfferUp and arranged sales in the parking lot of the Benning Road Metro station and the Home Depot on Rhode Island Avenue NE."

A car found in Syriaโs Afrin region on Saturday was fitted with 75 kilograms (165 pounds) of explosives connected to mobile phones for remote detonation. Police in Afrin received intelligence reports that a bomb-laden vehicle prepared in the Tal Rifat region, was sent to the Operation Olive Branch area in Afrin for an attack on security forces or civilians. Explosives were planted under the seats and in the trunk of the car, which was found abandoned in Afrinโs Mazra village, it added.

A few months ago the Camden County Sheriffโs Office along with our Explosive Ordinance Detection (EOD) K-9 Unit worked together on a multi-agency investigation. The Sheriffโs Office was informed of an area where stolen ammunition and explosives might possibly be buried. Within hours of learning this, CCSO and the K-9 Unit were deployed to the area. Sgt. Avedisian along with EOD K-9 Denny began a search of the area. After searching a large area K-9 Denny showed a positive response to the odor of an explosive. After digging about a foot and a half in the ground where K-9 Denny alerted to the odor of an explosive, ammunition and several pounds of explosives were found. All persons involved are in custody and there is no threat to the public. The Sheriffโs Office acted swiftly and safely and with the help of K-9 Dennyโs nose we had all the evidence recovered within hours of learning about it. The investigation has been turned over to a federal law enforcement agency and we will not be answering any questions. Please remember this page is to show you what our K-9s do for our community.
