Throwback to 1904! Schenectady was once known as "The City that Lights and Hauls the World." This was in reference to the industrial powerhouses located in the city, the Edison Electric Company (now known as General Electric), and the American Locomotive Company. These prominent businesses became major economic forces that helped establish the city and region as a national manufacturing center. At this time, the Schenectady population had grown to 31,682 compared to the 13,655 twenty years prior.

Trustco Bank is proud to support Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County and their first Veterans Build! A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Veterans Day to commemorate the start of a home built for a local Veteran and his family.

Operation: Please Remember Me is a grass roots organization founded by two Vets, Tom Regan and Gene Loparco, to keep the memory of their fallen brothers and sisters in arms alive. Many people in the Capital Region have seen the flags that line Route 9 in Loudonville from I-90 north to Latham. Each of the 162 flags represents 10 Capital Region residents that did not return home battle.
In observance of Veterans Day, our branch locations will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th. Our customer service department will be open 9am - 5pm.
