TTD Bookkeeping updated their business hours.
Our server, which holds all of the software we use to provide all of our services, is currently crashing.
We have managed to rescue our payroll program, so payroll operations will be continuing as normal (if not a little slower) for the time being.
We are still working on salvaging our bookkeeping and tax preparation software and data. At this time, we are halting all bookkeeping and tax preparation operations. We cannot provide any estimates or updates on any client at this time.
We want to assure our clients that there is no data breach. All information is secure - we just can't get to it right now, as the server is nonfunctional.
We will provide updates as we can. Thank you for your kindness and understanding during this time.
GENERAL FAQs:
Q: Are you still open to do taxes?
A: Yes, but our office is currently closed to the public, so we are not accepting walk ins or appointments. Currently, you are able to email, fax, mail, or drop off your tax documents to our office starting May 4 at 10am. Our email addresses are candy@ttdbookkeepingservices.com or katelyne@ttdbookkeepingservices.com . Our fax number is 254-247-1436.
Our drop off hours will start Monday, May 4. Drop offs will be allowed between 10am - 4pm, Monday - Friday.
Q: I don't feel comfortable having my taxes prepared without being present. What do I do?
A: Unfortunately, our current options do not allow for individuals to be present during the tax filing process. No return will be filed without a clients' signature, so you will have the opportunity to review and ask any questions about your taxes that you have.
Q: How long is the turn around for getting my taxes done at this time?
A: Currently, we estimate approximately 2-3 weeks between receipt of documents and next contact. This next contact could be a notice of completion - and therefore moving to signatures and payment - or questions for clarification on your return.
Q: Can I call you?
A: Yes, you can call. Please be aware that our phones will only be active from 10AM - 4PM Monday - Friday. In the event that you are sent to voicemail for any reason, please leave one! We will call you back as soon as we are next available.
COVID-19 FAQs:
Q: What is the filing deadline now?
A: The IRS has changed the filing and payment deadline from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020.
Q: Will the stimulus payment be taxable income on my 2020 tax return?
A: At this time, the IRS has not given a definitive answer. We do not know if this payment will be taxable or nontaxable.
Q: Will I have to pay back the stimulus payment?
A: At this time, the IRS has not given a definitive answer. We do not know if this payment will be made to be paid back.
Q: I have not yet received my stimulus payment. Why not?
A: There are a number of reasons why you may not have received your stimulus payment.
The most common reason is that they have not yet reached your account to disburse it. The disbursement can take up to 20 weeks, as there are a lot of individuals they are sending money to.
Please use the "Get my Payment" tool on www.irs.gov to find more information for your specific situation, or call us at 254-526-4080 between the hours of 10am - 4pm M-F.
Q: My stimulus payment wasn't as much as I expected. Why?
A: If your income is greater than the threshold ($75,000 for single individuals, $112,500 for head of household individuals, $150,000 for married individuals), your payment will be reduced. If your dependent is over the age of 17, you will not receive the additional $500 for them.
Q: The IRS tool says I won't get a payment. Why not?
A: There are three common reasons for this.
1. Your income is too high. If you make $99,000+ as a single individual, $136,500+ as head of household, or $198,000+ as a married individual, you will not receive a payment. These thresholds should be increased by $10,000 [capping at $30,000] for each qualifying [under 17] dependent on the return.
2. You were claimed as a dependent. If you were claimed as a dependent by someone else, you will not receive a stimulus payment.
3. You have not filed your 2018 or 2019 tax returns. The only individuals who will automatically receive a stimulus payment that have not filed their 2018 or 2019 returns are those who receive SSDI, SSI or RRB and do not have a filing requirement. Those who only receive VA, at this time, must provide the IRS with more information to receive their payment. Use the "Non-Filers: Enter Payment Info Here" link at www.irs.gov to provide this information.
