MESSENGER Tuttle & Sawmill Eye Associates updated their business hours.
COVID-19 UPDATE To Our Valued Patients: Tuttle and Sawmill Eye Associates has always been committed to the health and safety of our patients, our staff, and our community. We understand the concern that many have about the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and how it may impact your relationship with our practice. Per the CDC protocols, here is what we are doing to keep everyone safe: • We have been sharing COVID-19 updates with our staff and have upgraded our already strict operating protocols across our locations. • We have instituted appointment screening procedures for the safety of our patients and our staff. We are rescheduling any patients that may be at risk. • We sanitize each instrument both immediately before and immediately after each use to prevent the spread of infection from one patient to another. We have always been proud of this commitment. • We are increasing the frequency in which ‘high touch’ areas will be cleaned and sanitized, such as our reception chairs and tables. You’ll notice that we have also removed magazines from our reception area to decrease the spread of infections. • Our Doctors and staff continue to practice good hygiene. We wash our hands frequently with antibacterial soap or a high-percentage alcohol hand sanitizer. We are continuing to do everything we can to keep our practice a clean and safe environment for you and your family. Tuttle and Sawmill Eye Associates will continue to monitor COVID-19 closely and will follow the protocols set forth by the CDC. Our practice remains a safe place to continue your uninterrupted eye health care.
The goal of our practices is to deliver Tomorrow's Standard Of Eye Care - Today! An example of this commitment is our decision to invest in the Optomap Retinal Imaging System at both our Tuttle and Sawmill locations. Why Optomap ultra-widefield retinal imaging? Your retina (located in the back of your eye) is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly. This means that in addition to eye conditions, signs of other diseases (for example, stroke, heart disease, hypertension and diabetes) can also be seen in the retina. Early signs of these conditions can show on your retina long before you notice any changes to your vision or feel pain. While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify that your eye is healthy. What is an optomap Image? The optomap ultra-widefield retinal image is a unique technology that captures more than 80% of your retina in one panoramic image while traditional imaging methods typically only show 15% of your retina at one time. Getting an optomap image is fast, painless and comfortable. Nothing touches your eye at any time. It is suitable for the whole family. To have the exam, you simply look into the device one eye at a time (like looking through a keyhole) and you will see a comfortable flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. Under normal circumstances, dilation drops might not be necessary, but your eye care practitioner will decide if your pupils need to be dilated depending on your conditions. The capture takes less than a second. Early signs of disease can be present in the periphery of your retina and remain undetected for a long time when using traditional methods. Benefits of Optomap: 1. Optomap facilitates early protection from vision impairment or blindness 2. Early detection of life-threatening diseases like cancer, stroke, and cardiovascular disease. 3. The unique optomap ultra-widefield view helps your eye care practitioner detect early signs of retinal disease more effectively and efficiently than with traditional eye exams. 4. Early detection means successful treatments can be administered and reduces the risk to your sight and health. Call our offices to schedule your comprehensive eye exam and ask about getting your retinas scanned using the Optos Imaging System.
