Together with the a catalytic carbon filter we will be able to make unique water profiles for every beer recipe in the arsenal. Great beer starts with great water.

🎨The flowers in our windows were part of a Pittsburgh Beautification Project 🌺 painted by @bobzillerart and over 100 community volunteers in 2009.
Today we’ve been working on design ideas for these flowers to again bring beauty inside our future taproom. 🌼

When we kicked off this journey in 2 years ago this month, we had no idea all of this would bring us here to this building in Garfield in Pittsburgh.
This man is the one who made this all happen and still does everyday. (But it is really hard to get him in a 📸...this was our compromise 🤪)
Mike is the co-owner & head brewer of Two Frays Brewery (and my husband of 15 years❤️) He writes all of our recipes and brews delicious beers in addition to managing most of the behind the scenes work and also overseeing the construction of our brewery.
He is passionate about making really good beer and will always tell you (while handing you the beer) that he is going to do better next time. He loves the people 👥, creativity 🧑🎨science 🔬and the process of brewing and is in relentless pursuit of continuous improvement. He also loves to talk about it with all of you.

Triple B IPA. Happy Birthday, Buddy.
Smooth. Clean. Touches of melon and herbs.
We tweaked the grain bill to be a bit smoother, and only used Cashmere hops. Slight lingering sweetness with lemon. 6.2% ABV. And I like that we pulled most of the haze out of it.
Nailed it.

A complex dinner needs a complex beer pairing.
We like IPAs and we like Belgian ales. This real style mashup is a Belgian (Double) IPA, which we call Hyphenated.
Spicy - dank. Sweet - resinous. Boozy - drinkable. Goes well with a spicy veggie bowl.

Hyphenated — Belgian-American IPA
9% ABV!
Belgian sweetness and spiciness with some dank, sticky American-ness.
We added hops in the mash to bring in some very distinct hop flavor as well - something we (and most brewers) don’t traditionally do but may do more of in the future!
This one is complex and great for keeping warm on these chilly evenings.
Artie Party American Wheat with Peaches.
I shared one with Art at the brewery construction site yesterday - the best part of our construction week.
Definitely a sweeter and more acidic beer from the puréed peaches, it’s a juice bomb, almost passing as a juicy IPA. I think we will do a series of Artie Party Wheats with different fruit.

I was impatient about putting something on draft at the brewery, even if we are still under construction. So I made some fizzy lemon water for the Flynn Crew!
Flynn gifted us this sweet handle over a month ago, and I’ve also been itching to see it in action, too. Love it! Works like a charm!
