TRAFFIC ADVISORY- INTERSTATE 10 ST. MARTIN PARISH
Final Update: All lanes of I-10 West in St. Martin Parish have been re-opened.
Update: Westbound lanes remain closed as crews continue to clean up. We will update as soon as roadway is open.
Update: Eastbound lanes are open and all traffic behind the crash on the westbound side has been cleared. Crews are working to clear the wreckage as traffic continues to be diverted to LA 415 and US 190.
I -10 westbound near Butte La Rose exit, mile post 122, in St Martin Parish is currently closed due to a two-vehicle crash with fire. Eastbound has been delayed due to heavy smoke but is clearing at this time. The vehicles involved are containing non-hazmat materials.
Please expect delays, avoid the area if possible, and visit www.511la.org for route and road conditions.

1 PM: ZETA NOW A CATEGORY 2 HURRICANE
Unfortunately, Zeta has continued to intensify this afternoon and is now a Category 2 hurricane with max winds of 100 mph. Landfall will likely occur by late afternoon in Terrebonne and Lafourche parishes. Winds will increase rapidly along the coast over the next few hours.

UPDATE: 1 person that died was the suspect driving the vehicle during the chase that started in New Roads. Another person was an innocent bystander driving. 3 other people, including an infant who were in the suspect's vehicle, are in critical condition at this time.
POLICE CHASE THAT STARTED IN NEW ROADS LEAVES 2 PEOPLE DEAD
A police chase that started in New Roads has resulted in a deadly wreck, officials with Louisiana State Police confirm.
Officials with the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office say the chase started Monday evening (Oct. 26) in New Roads and involved a stolen Camaro. Officers with the New Roads Police Department began chasing the stolen vehicle, then called for assistance from the sheriff’s office.
The chase ended in Baton Rouge on Scenic Highway near Old Rafe Mayer Road, officials say.
