Please don’t actually put sunscreen on your devices, but they do need to be protected from overexposure to heat and sunlight. If your phone gets too hot, it can experience problems like battery drain or a total forced shutdown. So when you’re outside enjoying summer activities, leave your phone in a cool, dry place to keep it protected.
It’s a total myth that putting your phone in rice will dry it out after water damage. Rice only absorbs moisture that it comes into direct contact with and, chances are, if your device has internal water damage, the rice won’t be able to get close enough to absorb anything. Do yourself and your device a favor, and bring it to us instead.
If you or someone you know is a frontline worker who could use a Samsung or Google smartphone repair, our Frontline Heroes repair program is still in effect through June 30. For more information, visit our blog: ubreakifix.com/blog/frontline-heroes
Is your device not charging or charging at a glacial pace when you plug it in? It can be hard to determine if your battery is actually dead or if the charge port is broken. Try testing the device with a few different charging cords in different outlets, and if you’re still not having any luck, bring it in to your local uBreakiFix and we’d be happy to help.
To recognize the heroic efforts of our frontline workers, we’re teaming up with Samsung and Google to provide a free repair on a Samsung or Google Pixel smartphone to U.S. healthcare workers and first responders working hard to keep us safe. If you are a frontline worker and are interested in starting a repair or to learn more about getting a repair for your favorite frontline worker, click below.
