Dr. Umaima Jamaluddin, MD, FACOG is an obstetrician and gynecologist serving the Bakersfield, California community. She has a passion for women’s health and has been practicing for over 40 years. During her most recent experience as a specialist, she's been caring for women at hospitals in the area, including Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, Mercy Hospitals of Bakersfield, and San Joaquin Community Hospital.
Dr. Jamaluddin took an interest in science and helping others at a young age and attended Grant Medical College in India, where she earned her doctorate in 1968. She moved to the United States to specialize in women’s health care.
After completing a year-long internship at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina, she completed a residency in gynecology and obstetrics at New York’s SUNY Health Science Center at Brooklyn. Then, she finished another residency in gynecology and obstetrics at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.
Once she completed this residency, Dr. Jamaluddin knew she wanted to remain in the area and help women in and around Bakersfield. Today, she’s a valuable member of the community who still has a passion for bringing new life into the world, as well the reproductive health of women.
She educates women on choosing the best option for birth control based on their health, lifestyle, and personal preference. She also diagnoses and treats women’s reproductive issues.
She’s an active member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and prides herself on providing outstanding care by relying on her experience and utilizing a conservative approach to diagnostic and preventative medicine and treatment.
Dr. Jamaluddin speaks English, Spanish, Arabic, Gujarati, Hindi, and Urdu, allowing her to treat patients from a variety of backgrounds.
