Congratulations on a great career, Jean! Thank you for everything you’ve done at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital.

Friday was a very special day for Jean Stone.
Not only was it her last day before retirement after 50 years working at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital, she was also presented with the DAISY Award by senior leadership.
"For nearly 50 years, Jean has gone above and beyond for her HealthAlliance patients, families, co-workers, and community," a colleague wrote when nominating Jean for the award. "Whether Jean was caring for her own patients, or willingly helping a co-worker in need of assistance, Jean did so, because she truly cares for her patient's well being, putting their needs before hers or anyone else's. As an expert nurse Jean can foresee and expect changes in her patient's clinical status before others do. Jean consistently applies her critical thinking, astute nursing judgment and strong decision-making skills in every aspect of the exceptional care that she provides to her patients. She takes the time to speak to them and laugh with them, she has held many hands, cried with many and advocated for all."
"She is compassionate, supportive, to the point, and she is always the calm in our chaos. When Jean could have easily retired, as she had planned, she decided to stay on throughout the pandemic because as she stated, 'I'm not ready, I can't leave my girls in this mess, I want to stay and help them through this, I'll let you know when I'm ready.'"
Please join us in congratulating Jean on an AMAZING career, and ending with an exclamation point, the DAISY Award.
Thank you, Jean.
