If you’ve ever wondered how operating rooms seem to run so smoothly, you have a surgical technologist to thank. They’re responsible for properly setting up the room, arranging necessary equipment, and assisting physicians during surgery. They have some extremely important job duties, and that’s why we honor them September 20-26 during National Surgical Technologists Week. Thank you to our surgical technologists who work in our operating room, endoscopy department, and with our obstetric patients.

Be honest. How many times have you said the words “I miss…” since the pandemic began? Whether it is getting warm hugs from loved ones, gathering with friends for potluck dinners, or enjoying your kids’ athletic competitions, the #COVID19 pandemic has taken away a lot of things that used to bring us joy.
But there is hope on the horizon! The COVID-19 vaccine is here, and though it will take some time to get our entire community vaccinated, our team at UP Health System - Marquette is encouraged that an end to the pandemic is within reach. Once the vaccine is widely available to our community, we encourage everyone to roll up their sleeves (literally) and choose to get vaccinated…let’s put the pandemic behind us and get back to the things we love! #VaccineHero #GetVaccinated #YooperStrong
