Upper Extremity Specialists of Synergy Orthopedic Specialists Medical Group in La Jolla and Chula Vista, California, is lead by Kristopher Downing, MD, and Daniel Brereton, DO, along with their office, surgery center and hospital staff, who work together to provide advanced surgical and nonsurgical treatments for upper extremities, including the hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Dr. Downing and Dr. Brereton provide general orthopedic care as well but have a focus and strong interest in orthopedic care of the upper extremity.

Dr. Downing, Dr. Brereton, and their team diagnose and treat a wide range of upper-extremity injuries, trauma, and diseases. They offer highly customized, expert care that may include conservative nonoperative orthopedics, reparative orthopedics and/or meticulous orthopedic surgeries—with surgery reserved for those patients that have tried all other nonsurgical treatments or if surgery is the most prudent option.
