Baby on Board! Naturally we love all patients and enjoy seeing all those who walk through our doors. Our expecting moms hold a special place in our hearts. Just like they are eating for two the adjustment is for two. When getting adjusted we use gentle techniques to ensure that Mom's nervous system is functioning at its most optimal. For during this time she is making sure that baby has the best home and environment to grow and thrive. Chiropractic can have such an impact on quality of life with our expecting moms! Where are the mom's at?! Who got adjusted while pregnant? Who has questions about getting adjusted while pregnant?
National do something nice day! Some days it is not easy to be kind or go that extra mile. But it is the little things that can completely change someone's day! What is your favorite way to be kind?
Best movie ever! Where are my Mean Girl fans?! What's one of your favorite movies? What's a movie you could never get sick of?
Our healthcare system is not built for “preventative” care. We have started to see more shifts toward preventative care, which is great, but there are still people who don’t understand why taking care of their body now will help prevent further damage down the road. People question when chiropractors discuss “wellness” or “maintenance” care. WE get it. You wouldn’t go to the ER and say, “I feel great!” They would be like, ok, go home then... Chiropractic is different in that way. When you come into our office and say, “I feel great!” They will say, “that’s amazing! Let’s keep you that way.” Because we know that the lack of symptoms does not mean you are healthy. Only a small portion of your nervous system sends pain signals (about 10%). There is a much larger section that deals with the FUNCTION of your body! Chiropractors influence the nervous system (which controls EVERYTHING in the body) through adjustments to the spinal column.🧠 We want you to have a long, happy, healthy life!🤗But if you don’t make time for wellness, you will be forced to make time for illness that was created by not taking care of your body NOW! Don’t be afraid of wellness or maintenance care. Embrace it and utilize it to keep your body functioning and feeling amazing!
October! We made it! Really excited to visit Thuli Tables and pick up our new table to bring it to our Chariton patients. We know that it is not the table that makes the adjustment, but the right table helps me help all of you. We got to pick up our beautiful table and also get a tour of their facility. Such a wonderful place. If you have not had an appointment yet since Dr. Lindsey being back from the conference there are some amazing changes coming! We are excited to bring all of this to you! #chiropractic #changetheworld #utopiafamilychiro
Its time to move it move it! When someone tells me I NEED to exercise, I usually think - 🙄. Sometimes I am ready to move. The best part about exercise helps us in so many different aspects. Exercise for immune function alone is amazing but it helps with mood too! What is even better is there are so many ways to get moving! There is no rule that says we need to do CrossFit or run a mile. We simply need to do the exercise that speaks to us. Move your body your mind, body and nervous system will thank you. I LOVE to go for a walk around the neighborhood with Toby, do Beachbody and ride bike! What is your favorite way to exercise?
Drain baby, drain! Let's get geeky and talk about the anatomy of an ear infection. Many think that the problem is the infection, but the real problem is that the ear canal isn't draining. When the eustachian tube doesn't drain, fluid just sits there and bacteria can grow... which leads to an infection. The muscle that drains the eustachian tube is the tensor veli palatini (TVP). When that fancy muscle isn't working properly, it can't do its job very well. So how do we get the ears to drain? Often times people turn immediately to tubes to take care of this problem, but it can also be done with a gentle chiropractic adjustment. Which sounds better? Adjustments activate the Vagus nerve, which causes the TVP to work better & better, allowing the fluid in the ears to eventually drain. Okayyyy, we've hit our quota of big words for the day :) Has your little struggled with ear infections?
It is #nationaldessertday what is your favorite dessert? Dr. Lindsey earned two blue ribbons for pie at the Iowa State Fair but she doesn't like to eat it. 😲 She is more of a cookie or scotcharoo fan! Oh, and ICE CREAM - especially when it is cold! What is your go to?
A look into my/our day... I'll spare you the boring stuff like notes and paperwork and tell you all about the fun stuff. On a typical day, you can find me SMILING. I get to have fun and witness kids laughing, families enjoying life and overall pure happiness. My favorite thing to do during the day though, is walking through the door not knowing how the day will unfold but knowing without a doubt it will be nothing short of amazing! What's the best part of your day?
Time to get REAL! Do you know your calling? This is something that is asked of me by my coach. I will admit that I always “thought” my calling was chiropractic in some capacity. As most of you know at the end of September I went to a conference and on my way home something amazing happened. Now a days I don’t listen to the radio much. I am usually listening to podcasts. However, after a great conference to give my mind a break I blast the tunes and have a private concert. About two hours into this concert I was overcome with the best feeling that I knew down to my core that I was born to be a chiropractor. I still am not sure on the full extent of my calling but being a chiropractor is exactly what I am supposed to be. What a beautiful realization. I also remember the exact moment I decided to be a chiropractor. I have told this story before and at the time did not understand the significance. But looking back now the one decision that I never second guessed for a minute was to be a chiropractor. HOW FREAKING COOL? Photo cred goes to Ocean the song I was straight up jamming out to during this realizations. What is your calling? ~Dr. Lindsey
Seasons are changing. I will admit that fall is one of my favorite seasons (I love the spring too when the trees and flowers start blooming 😍). While at the conference at the end of September I was reminded we are all working on something. Some are changing their habits: some are eating more veggies, some are trying to get in a workout routine, some are just taking it day by day. What I want to remind everyone is that change takes time. We can’t expect change to happen overnight. Changes happens one day at a time one decision at a time. The trees do not change colors and go dormant all at once, it is one leaf at a time. My next reminder is take some time out of your day and check out the trees🌳. Check out the colors, the smells and really experience fall with ALL of your sense! This will do something amazing for your mindset! What is something new you noticed in nature today?
“Let Food be thy medicine, and thy medicine be thy food." - Hippocrates One of my favorite parts of 2020 is the shift that I have seen. I have seen people take a more active roll in their health and do things they never have done. I have seen families cook more, plant a garden and read labels more than they have before. Food has been used to help the body heal. Part of the most beautiful design of our bodies because of their ability to heal. Think about, you get a cut and your body forms a scab and eventually new skin appears. Our body uses the nutrients to help nourish. Check out the healthy benefits and the impact they have on our immune system: Citrus Fruit Red Bell Peppers Broccoli (SUPER FOOD) Garlic Almonds All just to name a few. What are some super foods you have discovered this year?
Did you know that if a mom nurses for 1 year, she will have spent an average of 1,800 hours latched on? Hourly, that’s comparable to a full time work week!! Imagine if this first picture was your posture that whole time? Many of us find it’s easy and comfortable to latch on, hunch forward and scroll through our phones while we nurse. This quickly leads to nursing neck 😬 Nursing neck can cause neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, and numb/tingles into the hands... but it can also cause less obvious symptoms. It also contributes to mood imbalances, sleeping difficulties, and a decrease in milk supply 😧 The longer we spend with poor posture, the more our spinal column becomes misaligned. It gets used to this incorrect position and thinks that is its “new normal” and causes long term problems. It’s inevitable that throughout a moms breastfeeding journey, she will nurse in strange positions... but the great thing is that chiropractic adjustments can help! Adjustments restore the position of the vertebrae, causing less symptoms and a healthier, happy mama! Happy Mom, Happy Baby! Thank you Impact Chiropractic - Fort Collins Chiropractor for this wonderful post.
Okay, that's it. We're spilling the tea☕️ about pre/postnatal chiropractic! Prenatal chiropractic is one of the best things you can do during your pregnancy when it comes to balancing your pelvis, relieving low back pain, optimizing baby positioning, and lowering labor and delivery time. But the honest TRUTH? Prenatal chiropractic care is amazing at setting you up for an awesome postpartum journey. Ever heard of the 4th trimester? It's usually the least talked about, but possibly one of the hardest. How did you prepare for postpartum?
Let's take a minute and give a shout out to another doctor. While yes we love Dr. Lindsey we are also grateful for this place. Dr. Hirschy lets Dr. Lindsey serve his patients during the day on Thursdays and her patients in the afternoon! We are so grateful that we get to serve and reach more people by spending our time here!
Halloween is in a few days. Scary movies and scary decorations have been out for weeks. While we have enjoyed our happy fall decorations and looking forward to putting this year behind us there are some stats that we always have in the back of our mind. Not only has this year been very challenging but kids continue to face some harsh realities. We are not here to say chiropractic is the cure. The truth is chiropractic is NO cure and NO treatment. We just want to bring light that while all of these are becoming more common that does not mean they are normal. NOW is the time to make sure that we are keeping a well balanced life in all aspects. This means balanced meal -healthy fruits and veggies. This means making sure we have a great healthy dose of exercise and turn off the electronics - especially if we are virtual learning. This means making sure we go to bed at a decent time. This means that we also add chiropractic. Again Chiropractic is never a cure but what it does do is make sure the MAIN system in the body that CONTROLS ALL OTHER SYSTEMS is working correctly. If all the lights go out in your house you don't go check every bulb. You go to the fuse box. We have seen parents and kids running on empty with blown fuses and coming in to check out their fuse box. Again, just because these are all common does not mean they are normal. Let change the story for our kids!
Why would you bring your child to the chiropractor? Littles tell us in different ways they need to visit us, here are some things to listen out for... ⁣ 😭 Waaaaahhhh! All those fusses that don’t seem to be easily identified or resolved are your baby's way of telling you somethings just not quite right. We have heard moms described as a "different cry". 👂🏼 Tugging on their ears! All that tugging is their way of trying to help their ear drain better and relieve the discomfort. Tiny misalignments in their neck can block the flow of their ears and cause infections. 👃 Snotty Noses! The child who’s always sneezing or boogery! There’s a reason why … Your kid's immune system controls their sinuses/nose and throat, and that is controlled by the nerves in the top of their neck. If there’s any stress left over from birth, falls while learning to stand/crawl/walk and more, they can have a lot of difficulty with drainage and fighting bacteria and viruses! This is right up there with constantly sick. If your little is just fighting off one illness after another it is time to figure out what is going on! 💩 Poor pooping. It is so important for everyone to poop everyday. This includes our babies. Struggling to go poop is something we see often in our littles. We see it a lot with our littles who suffer with lots of illnesses. Don't worry your nervous system controls your digestion too. When we opened the office we never thought we would talk about snotty noses and poop so much but it is something that really impacts our patients. Helping littles and their families is a big passion of ours. Looking at what is really going on and taking a different approach to their health is where we strive to get down to the cause. Who is ready for a new approach and answer? How is your little telling you they need an adjustment?
Hey Kids! Share your best Halloween joke with us! Stop in this week in costume for a treat from us! We all need some cheer to go along with this year. We will have treats all week!
Why does a newborn need adjusted? They don't have back pain. We actually get this all the time. We get the honor of seeing newborns. It is correct that they don't have back pain in the same way that adults do. It is always a good idea to have your newborn checked. Listen it is no surprised that the labor and delivery process is HARD for mom. We also have to remember baby is going through this as well. No matter how your beautiful baby was brought into this world it is not a stress free process. The best part of chiropractic is that we know when and when not to deliver an adjustment and they are extremely gentle. Often times baby just sleeps right through it! What questions do you have about babies getting adjusted?
It is all about being gentle. We spend a lot of our day working with kids and expecting women. Many people ask about our technique and how it differs. There are so many different techniques when it comes to chiropractic and it is not one size fits all! Activator is a method that we use with patients for an even more gentle technique than our hands. Don’t hesitate to ask more questions next time you are in the office! P.S. Dr. Lindsey has been studying and learning a new technique that she is excited to share with all of you. It is a very light, gentle technique and we can’t wait to roll it out and elevate your care to the next level!
Are you always dealing with a runny nose? Do you feel like you are in and out of the doctor office fighting off yet another cold? We hear this a lot from patients, usually a few weeks after school starts and again once the colder weather hits. While we commonly hear this from parents, this is not normal. We also hear this less from our families who are under wellness care. Having a strong immune system is so important to help us get sick less often. Chiropractic care and wellness care does not mean you will never get sick but it helps give your immune system a strong fighting chance. With a strong immune system they tend to get sick less and recover quickly. 💥Science alert! Chiropractic helps balance the sympathetic and parasympathetic parts of your nervous system and affects the Vagus nerve which impacts your immune system! What are some ways you boost your immune system?
Don't forget to set your clocks back tonight when you go to bed. Daylight saving time ends! Set your clocks back.
My story! I have shared this before and time to do it again. First off I did NOT always want to be a chiropractor. I am told my first adjustment was around two years old following a car accident (I don't remember this AT ALL). I got chiropractic care randomly through my younger years. My chiropractor can tell you it was nothing consistent. Typically, following increased headaches or following an injury. I would also typically have another headache following the adjustment because it had been so long. While at UNI, I was studying business (met Phil) and decided that business was really not my jam. Actually a teacher Phil loved and I hated really solidified that for me. One of my best friend, Ashley said I should be a chiropractor. Like I mentioned on another post I said I should and that was the easiest decision I have made. Now, it has been 12 years since I made that decision. Almost 10 years since I started chiropractic school and fell in love with the amazing ability of the body. Fell in love with what it was capable of and how the adjustments have that impact. For the past 9.5 years I have been getting adjusted weekly and have never felt better or asked more from my body. I am so grateful for that first adjustment and grateful for each one I give on a daily basis. I look forward to the next chapter and how the practice has evolved and the changes that are coming! Thank you all for being on this journey with me!

Are your needs getting met? Are you getting bogged down with your to do list? That is right we all have needs. Now this goes beyond basic we need food, water and shelter. Those are obvious needs that do need to be met for survival. We also need to make sure that we are reaching out for help with other needs. This is a post that a year ago I would not have made because I would have told you I can do it all myself. It is just another task, I want to do it because it made me feel good but then would add significant stress to my life. I am grateful to have some amazing mentors who have taught me these and helped me accept help - Thank you Dr. Krysti Wick and Kate Northrup. A simple start is looking at where people are offering help and instead of saying no, say yes. I get it easier said than done. BUT, when we accept help we get to say yes to self care for ourselves, we get to do the things we truly want to do and enjoy those things. Remember, it is okay to ask and accept help. This does not take away from our worth or make us less than.

When is the best time to get your first adjusted? Right after birth! When is the next best time to get your first adjustment? Today! This is something that we get asked often. What does it look like for a baby to get adjusted? Does it look like what an adult adjustment looks like? Baby adjustments are very gentle and look very different from adult adjustments. Oftentimes babies just sleep or talk to us during their adjustment. Why is it so important for babies to get checked? It is all about the master control (same with adults). The nervous system controls every cell, system and organ in our body. The birth process can be rough, even on a perfect delivery it is important to get their nervous system checked as all things are a go as the baby continues to grow and develop. Living life at optimal function is what it is all about.
Remember your healthy habits! #healthybychoice
Did you know that giving to others can have a positive impact on your health? Now there are many ways to be giving. One of our favorite was we did last week. We love to buy coffee for people. It is great to post it out there and be some cheer or a little ray of hope someone needed. Now that is not the only way you can help or be giving. Another simple way is picking up our neighbors yard waste bin when taking Toby on a walk if we noticed it has fallen over. Giving to others is not always a financial commitment. There are so many examples. Also check out this article from the Cleveland Clinic, with the health benefits we experience when we give! https://health.clevelandclinic.org/why-giving-is-good.../ What are your favorite ways to give? #givingtoothers #happinessinyourheart #givingseason #chariton #cliveiowa #desmoinesiowa #urbandaleiowa #westdesmoinesiowa #waukeeiowa #desmoinesmoms #desmoinesgivesback #givingback #fillupyourcup #givetoothers❤️
Check this out! Our friends at Trinity Life Center shared an impactful article that we had to share with all of you! Our kids DESERVE better! You, our parents DESERVE better! CNN.COM Antibiotic use in babies linked to allergies, asthma and other conditions, study finds Trinity Life Center November 16 at 7:21 PM · Anyone want guess what the #1 prescribed medication in all of pediatrics is? Water, water, water, water! How many of you would torture your brother or sister when they had to go to the bathroom with that? Sometimes I feel like I am right back there but this time reminding myself to drink water! Water is such a vital element for us as living things. Water is so critical for our body for our immune system as well. It plays an important role to help eliminate toxins and bacteria, because of this water helps us ward off illness. It is also critical to helps us rest (which also helps our immune system)!
Ahhh! Nothing starts my day better than getting to the office and seeing these beauties. They are building behind the office and I was worried we wouldn't see the deer any more. This morning three including this little buck. Yes, I grew up on a farm. Yes, I have seen plenty of deer before. Yes, I still am in awe to see them in the middle of town. Yes, I prefer them in a field or the woods and not on roads. Yes, I hate them when they start running. I find some peace in watching the deer. Hope to see them again soon!

When baby is lowww... 🎶🔈 It can seem like baby will literally pop out any second. During the third trimester, baby starts to make his/her descent towards the birth canal. Benefits of prenatal chiropractic care include: - A decrease of low back pain - Relief of sciatica symptoms - R educed labor and delivery time - Optimal baby positioning - and more! Did you get prenatal chiropractic care during your pregnancy?
Hey, I'm Dr. Lindsey! It has been a while and we have some new people here! I am grateful to be able to serve patients for the last six years. When I was little I wanted to be a figure skater then a lawyer. I did not always know I wanted to be a chiropractor. Ever since making that decision it has been the best decision I have made. I am a bigger fan of fall and spring than winter, can I get an AMEN! Looking forward to expanding our team to add a new face to the office!
hahah! Disclaimer: we do not recommend belly flopping on the table! Awaken Family Chiropractic November 21 at 9:45 AM · “You know why I’m here.”😂 This was too funny not to share. Disclaimer: We don’t recommend belly flopping onto the adjusting table😆
Which type of patient are you? A) I only come when I hurt B) Duh I’m on a wellness plan and come regularly because I love how my adjustments make me feel! We welcome you either way 😉 We have heard it before, once you start going to the chiropractor you have to go forever. We do put your health first and there is a difference in our patients who are on wellness versus the ones who just pop in. After all, it is better to prevent issues than treat them (FYI; pain is often the LAST sign that something is wrong), we understand that everyone is busy and that life happens. With that said, we hope to see you soon!

Chiropractic is a victim of its own simplicity. We, as a people, are so disconnected from our own bodies that we assume healthcare to be complex, to be understood by only the smartest and well-learned minds. So we expect the intervention to be complicated...a new medication, an invasive surgery, etc. That’s why so many people dismiss chiropractic - it’s too simple! A restriction in spinal motion can disrupt the nervous system and interfere with its normal regulatory and adaptive function?! No way, right?! A gentle chiropractic adjustment can facilitate better function throughout the body and allow it to heal on its own?! It HAS to be more complicated, right?! The reality is our body has an innate ability, facilitated through our brain and spinal cord, to perceive and adapt to an ever-changing environment. A restriction in spinal motion disrupts that nervous system and contributes to dysfunction that, over time, leads to dis-ease (we call this a subluxation). Chiropractors adjust subluxations, thereby allowing the body to work better. And it works for babies, children, expecting mamas, athletes, elderly and everyone in between. It really is that simple!
Pass those poms! What is a pom you may ask? Pomegranates, they are hands down my favorite fruit. While they are certainly a pain in the behind to peel they are totally worth it! Check out all these amazing benefits to pomegranates: ~ rich in antioxidants ~ rich in vitamin c (super important for immune health) ~ promote healthy digestion ~ anti-inflammatory ~ reduce heart disease (the juice running as most heart-healthy juice) ~ antiviral (vitamin C and vitamin E ro fight infections) Sadly we only get these beautiful fruits a couple months of the year! I know I stock up. We peeled three the other day and hope to pick up some more late! Can’t go wrong with this snack!
I'll admit it. 2020 has put me in all the feels. I have had ups and downs. Again, I will look at this year and remember the good times. I will remember the kids who got to spend more time with their parents. I will remember the new patients that I welcomed into the office. I will remember how it was the first year I actually took some time off. I will remember how I grew personally and professionally. Remember this👇! Remember that you must take care of you. Remember that to be everything to everyone else you must take care of you. Also, remember that you don't have to be all things to every person! You are human. You can have and ask for help!
Cookies, Cupcakes, and Sweets! These are a few of my favorite things! Who doesn’t love sugar? Sugar is sweet but it is also a big contributor to illness and disease. Now don’t get me wrong. I am going to tell you no sugar ever. When we get into this part of fall headed to winter is when we need to be sure that we limit our sugar. We also need to make sure that we are eating a well balanced meal. I love eating all sorts of fruits, but I am not the best at eating vegetables! I have found this great supplement to take to make sure to fill the holes where I am lacking in my diet. Juice plus is one of my regular supplements daily to help boost my immune system. This does not mean that I don’t eat fruits and veggies when available. I just get even more. As mentioned last week we are all about pomegranates this time of year. Superfruit helping out immune system.

Everybody poops 💩! If you have kids you maybe read this book to your littles. I'll admit I have never read this book but I do spend a lot of time talking about poop, something I never thought I would talk about when I was in chiropractic school. Having regular bowel movements is so incredibly important. This is critical for good gut health. About 70% of our immune system is in our gut, pretty important to make sure it is in top shape! Constipation is one of the main reasons we see kids. It is often an a secondary reason we see adults, they come in for one thing and through their history this is something that comes up. Poop is normal and it is normal to talk about! If you or your little are struggling with this give us a call today!
We are back and we are here for you!
Here's the truth, it's really all about POSTPARTUM. Yes, prenatal chiropractic is amazing during your pregnancy for multiple reasons. It can help align your pelvis, improve labor and delivery time, and help decrease aches and pains associated with pregnancy. But prenatal chiropractic is also setting the foundation for great postpartum healing! Postpartum, the 4th trimester of pregnancy, is often the forgotten trimester. Kind of like that one crazy pair of socks you have given up on finding. Which is unfortunate because it is a beautiful time for recovery and healing. Having a family to support you through your postpartum is crucial and is why we are honored to take care of our postpartum patients. If you're about to be a new mom, do you have a game plan to support healing during your postpartum journey? If you've had a kiddo, how was postpartum healing for you?
In wonderful 2020 fashion we are going to get hit with a bunch of snow 🥶this afternoon. It has started already but does not look too bad out there, kind of pretty 🥰 if I do say so myself. That being said we are going to be closing at 1 today. I want you all to be safe and not come to an appointment and chance the roads. I also selfishly need to make sure I can get home. We have rescheduled all appointments for this afternoon. If you wish to reschedule an appointment tomorrow then please give us a call, text or send us an email or message on Facebook and we will get you taken care of! Stay safe! Remember to shovel safely as well!
Important! Please watch! The snow is a falling!
What is your biggest source of stress? Stress affects us all! In chiropractic we talk about stress a lot. When we talk about stress of course we are talking about the three kinds of stress and how it affects the nervous system. The three kinds of stress that we talk about are emotional (thoughts), chemical (toxins) and physical (trauma). We also refer to them as the three T’s in chiropractic. Today it is all about emotional stress. This is the stress that we often think about when someone mentions stress. Emotional stress come from: *health (self and family) *financial *relationships *scheduling *holidays *balancing all walks of life This list is not all encompassing but it really lists a lot of the things that we think of when someone mentions stress. It is important to remember, especially when it comes to pain and why we visit a chiropractor that emotional stress has a significant impact on our health. Especially long term stress can impact our heart health, our immune health and have an impact on anxiety and depression. Now we know this is not the only factor impacting our health. We also know that some stress is unavoidable and some stress can be healthy. It is important to know where our limits are and how to have a positive change on our stress to keep it low to not have a negative impact on our health.
New year, new me! FAKE NEWS! While it is very true that it is a new year, it does not have to be a new you. The fact is you are AMAZING. Sure there are aspects you maybe want to improve on. We all strive to eat better and work out more and the countless other goals we all work towards. Here at Utopia we encourage - New Year! Stronger you. Loved you. You can change the first word but make it an empowered word. There was a great commercial this weekend that changed the classic new years resolutions from lose to gain! LOVE IT! We spend a lot of time working on ourselves. We encourage you to love on you a little more this year. We encourage you to forgive yourself. We encourage you to be proud of all you have done and all you will do. We encourage you to focus on the wins and the gains you achieve by working on yourself. You are amazing. Hello Utopia Family! I just wanted to share how thankful I am for receiving adjustments from Dr. Lindsey each week! Especially during this season of life, I am happy to boost my immune system every week! I have been to a handful of Chiropractors over the past 5 years who have each practiced different methods of adjusting, but I can honestly say that my body is so much more responsive to Dr. Lindsey's combinations of techniques. The Tonal adjustment techniques that she uses are customized to my body, and after just a month of consistent adjustments, I feel much more lively! My sleeping patterns have become more consistent and restful! My seasonal congestion has been severely diminished, which is a huge win for me during these cold weeks! If you have any questions about the Tonal adjustments Dr. Lindsey gives me, or about my journey in general, don't hesitate to ask! I am so thrilled to be a part of this Utopia Family!
What are your New Year's Resolutions? We are not exactly sure our New Year's resolution, but can we all say how excited we are to only write 21!! Let's learn from what 2020 taught us and strive to make 20201 the best year yet! Wishing you a Happy & Healthy start to 2021!
Did you know that what we put on our skin and into our bodies can cause stress on our nervous system? There we go again talking about stress. We get it. Last year sucked and we don’t want to talk about it again. But, when you are talking about the nervous system we couldn't do our job if we didn’t talk about stress. After all, stress has a huge impact on our nervous system. Today we are talking about Chemical or Toxic stress. Now, I know what some of you are thinking, I don’t have any chemicals around me. I don’t do drugs so there are no chemicals in my life. What is important to remember is that we actually have a lot of chemicals around us. We must do our best to limit our chemical exposure. Sources of chemical exposure: *farm land - spraying *personal care products *cleaning products *food *beverages Now we are not expecting you to be perfect but everything in moderation. It is important to use personal care and cleaning care products that have cleaner ingredients. It is important to get a balanced meal of healthy foods if possible. It is important for your health to make sure that we always do our best to put clean products into and on our vessel. Everything we do impacts our health. That includes the lunch we ingest and the shampoo that we use. It all plays a role. (Pictured: cleaner shampoo and conditioner - Beautycounter, and clean nail polish- Color Street)
Okayyyy, we've hit our quota of big words for the day :) Has your kiddo struggled with ear infections?
What's your favorite type of self care? What have you been doing for your mental health? How are you taking care of you? These are simple questions but can also be tough to answer. Sometimes we think, I have so many other things to do I don't have time for self care. I get it. We often think that self care is not needed. This couldn't be farther from the truth. 2020 taught a lot. Self care has never been more important. This is critical for every single person. Stay at home mom or dad. Parents that physically goes to work. Parents who work from home. Our kids. We all need it. How can you spend time each month (at minimum) to spend time on you? How can you spend time and invest in your relationship each month? How can you help your kids see how strong you are because you took time for yourself? This is critical! If you need help with this please reach out!
What’s your Utopia? Before I graduated school I knew that I wanted to open my office and start my own clinic. I spent a lot of time on the name. Utopia came to mind first but I wasn’t sure how it would flow or what I truly thought of the word. I kept coming back to it, and a few other names I liked were already taken. Doing some research one night stumbled on the definition. One of the definitions of Utopia is ideal state or place. I loved it. I knew I was going to impact peoples’ lives. I also knew that we are all going through different aspects of health and I wanted to strive to help people reach their Utopia or ideal health. I knew the possibilities with chiropractic and with this amazing gift I was given that I was going to change the world and have that impact on people. If you are ready to experience your Utopia with your health give us a call. We are always welcoming more people into our family! We would love to welcome you as well!

What is something from your childhood you love to do as an adult? We call for no more screen time! Now believe me I get the irony that you are in fact reading this on a screen. I appreciate your support of our business and learning about all our tips and tricks. When is the last time you spent a time off your screens? When is the last time you went sledding? When is the last time you put together a puzzle? When is the last time you colored? These things all seem potentially childish but hey we all need to nourish our child inside! Now, I do admit that as a chiropractor doing a puzzle not always friendly to the spine. While putting this one together I spent WAY TOO MANY HOURS LOOKING DOWN. But also it was so much fun challenging my mind and staying off my screen. Also, man it feels like such an accomplishment to be done.
You are my favorite! It is true I have a lot of favorite patients. I truly love being a part of your health journey. Each patient brings amazing conversation, community and healing Having the opportunity to take care of our prenatal patients is always extra special. Being a part of their pregnancy journey and watch baby grow. Then our favorite part is when they bring baby in and we get to meet for the first time. There's nothing like getting to meet the baby we have felt kick us and watched grow finally here. Being a part of your prenatal support team means the world to us. What are some moments that make you thankful to do what you do?

Braxton Hicks contractions...what are they and how can chiropractic help? I ask all my pregnant mamas in the office if they have Braxton Hicks contractions, as chiropractic care can often help with your discomfort by aligning your pelvis and addressing your ligaments and psoas muscles (chiropractic adjustments also help turn on your parasympathetic nervous system, which can help you relax). How do you know the difference between Braxton Hicks and labor contractions? Braxton Hicks contractions usually: ✔️ Stop when you change positions/activities ✔️ Infrequent and/or Unpredictable/Not evenly spaced ✔️ They do not increase in intensity or frequency ✔️ They taper off and then disappear altogether Of course, when in doubt, call your doctor. 😊 Did you experience Braxton Hicks contractions?
Time so love more and hate less! Loving more starts with loving you! We put all these ridiculous standards on ourselves when it comes to what we should look like, what we should believe and how we should act. It is time to give ourselves permission to be us! We are beautiful people no matter what you do for work, who you believe in, what political party you like and how we look. We are amazing. We can not please everyone. We can please ourselves, we can love ourselves, and we can be empowered to have a freaking amazing life. Now is the best time to ensure that the life we live is our absolute best life and show the next generation what it means to love ourselves unconditionally and CHANGE THE WOLRD!
Let's talk about fevers!🌡 There is a common misconception that a fever is an indication that your body is sick, when in reality, a fever indicates that your immune system is working! A fever is a healthy response by the body. A rise in body temperature is a healthy body's response when it is threatened by an "invader," often a virus or bacteria. Most often, the best course of care for a fever is letting it run its course! Remember, the fever indicates that the body's immune system is doing what it should do🙌🏻 While a fever is present, it's important to stay hydrated and push fluids so as to prevent dehydration💦 Also important to turn to vitamins and supplements that support my body and immune system, as well. Fun fact! Because as Chiropractors we work with the nervous system it also has a positive impact on the immune system!
We were lucky enough to receive a gift from Nothing Bundt Cakes this week! Such a tasty treat! We love supporting other local businesses!
If you knew what I knew you would do what I do! Now, I'm not perfect. I have never claimed to be and won't ever make that statement. I am constantly learning and improving myself. This picture was taken in high school and one of my favorite pictures. I loved playing softball (I'm number four, pitching). I miss playing so much. Why this has significance is because then my chiropractic story was so different. I was getting Chiropractic care but nothing regular. To be honest it was probably a few times a year. I got adjusted if my headaches got bad or I got injured playing the game I loved. When I went to chiropractic school I quickly learned not everyone visits a chiropractor. Blew me away. But also I learned so quickly what chiropractic actually does and how regular chiropractic care benefits us all. Now, I get adjusted regularly. Ever since getting adjusted regularly I notice less sick days. I used to get a significant cold at least twice a year in undergrad. I get headaches less frequent and go away quciker. I feel good mind and body. The longer I get regular adjustments I feel (and know) my mind and body are communicating and experiencing life to the fullest. If you have made it this far and you want to know more send us a message. We know everyone deserves to experience life like this especially your kids. Give us a call. Your time is now!
What helped you alleviate discomfort when you were pregnant? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ One of the most common complaints during pregnancy has to do with the round ligament, which connects the front part of the uterus down into the groin. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Bet you didn’t know that the uterus expands up to 500 times its original size during pregnancy! 🤯 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ While it’s no wonder you’re in pain, it doesn’t have to be this way. We know exactly how to help make you more comfortable 💛 We have helped so many women enjoy pregnancy a little more with less discomfort and spoiler alert some even noticed shorter labor times. Check out these AMAZING women. These awesome ladies have been a crucial part to helping Utopia serve you all at its best. This is only a part of the team that helps me, as your chiropractor show up at my best and be the best chiropractor for you. I thrive on daily phone calls with my best friend who is a chiropractor to stay on top of all things. I also run situations by her to ensure you are getting the best care. This lovely group of ladies, and some not pictured as this was taken last year is a group of amazing women I am so lucky to learn from. They have helped me grow individually and as a business. I look at who I was a year ago and there has been such a transformation into who I am now. I am so grateful to also add Abby to my team, but also know that without the amazing support of women chiropractors this journey would be a lot more difficult. Any lady docs out there looking for a place to learn, grow and find who you are check out the Illuminated Squad. I know I wouldn't be where I am with out it!
Do all littles need to be adjusted? Nope...but all littles should be checked by a chiropractor. In fact the closer to after birth is better to see if they do need to be adjusted. The physical stresses of being pushed and pulled during birth is more than enough to cause severe trauma, but it can also cause much more subtle trauma - a restriction in spinal biomechanics that disrupts the nervous system and interferes with normal feeding, sleep, immune function, development, etc. That’s what chiropractors address, but too often babies don’t see a chiropractor until after they’re symptomatic and after parents have tried other approaches. It’s far easier to help a baby develop properly than try to correct a problem afterward. Every child should be checked by a chiropractor after birth and throughout development, and adjusted when appropriate. The biggest part of the job of the chiropractor is to know when not to adjust. We know when to deliver a specific adjustment and when not to.
❗✳Update! ✳❗ So, while I could drive to the office but Abby let me know there is some impressive drifts at the office blocking the entrances to the parking lot. Due to our small cars we don't want to get stuck or have any of you getting stuck either. I have contacted patients to reschedule. I am so grateful for your understanding why we have made the decision to close the office this afternoon. I appreciate you so much and look forward to keeping you on track with your health at your rescheduled appointment. I love what I do so much and appreciate each and every one of you. And let's hope mother nature has gave us enough snow for a long time. If you need to get schedule please, call, text, email or Facebook message or request an appointment to get scheduled!
❗❗Update❗❗ As of right now, I believe main roads are looking pretty good. BUT, our road has not been touched. Living down hill at this point I can not make it to the office. I am hoping we will get plowed out soon and I can make it this afternoon. I will make a decision in a few hours! Thank you!

It this isn't exactly what the doctor ordered I am not sure what is! Great laugh on a beautiful day! Suzanne Paris January 27 at 6:29 PM · If you need a laugh.. 😂 Sound on
Will Phil see his shadow, or will he not? Happy Groundhogs day! This is a fun day where we all wait and see, will we have six weeks until spring or six more weeks of winter. I admit as a child I feel like this was a huge deal. Nowadays, I look at the facts. I don’t know all the facts of what when they decide what it will be. The point is, we know either way it is six weeks until it is officially Spring. We also know that we live in Iowa and winter or a winter storm can happen well after spring is here. The way I look at it we can take whatever result Mr. Punxsutawney Phil gives us, we can let it affect our lives or we can see the result and have the best six weeks we ever had!
Have you lost all hope? I truly hope the answer to this is no. We are all on different paths. We are all braving our own storms. We are all headed in different directions. I remember the moment that I decided pediatrics and family care was where I was headed. Now, don't get me wrong I know we all need chiropractic. I love starting every Monday for my weekly adjustment. However, when I sat in the hall where I got to walk across the stage as I graduated a doctor of chiropractic I knew I was called to serve families and kids. I knew this next generation needed me. I knew they needed something only few people could give. I have so much hope for this next generation. I have hope that we will make it out of this storm and they are survivors. I have so much hope for the future. Now, I know that I don't make an impact on hope alone but having hope is just the start. The start for a new beginning and hope for a better future. What can be better than that?
I’ve done this, I still do this! We see the glitz and glory of what someone posts on social media and think I wish I had that or what a great life they must have. They really seem to have it all. When the truth is we have no idea what is actually going on. This calls for a mindset shift as we scroll through social media. We take everything with a grain of salt and understand that what is shown is a fraction of their life. Remember, we all go through things in life. We can appreciate what everyone posts and chooses to share but it is not their whole life. What others choose to post does not give us value or devalue any part of our life.
Wow. Amazing things are happening here! Check out his full story. They have got some amazing therapies now adding in chiropractic. Check out what is happening as our friends at PWC Chiropractic are helping his nervous system turn on and body and brain communicate! Love this! Light for Levi and Lainey Yesterday at 4:40 AM · We completed day 6 today of the 2 week intensive program here at PWC Chiropractic. Levi is adjusted twice a day and scanned almost daily to check the progress. This evening they even had a physical therapist come in to work with Levi after the adjustment. They are all working hard to get Levi to come out of this fight or flight mode so that his body can relax and heal. After his morning adjustment today, Levi did take a 4 hour nap which was amazing and one of the longest stretches of sleep he has been able to get. We know sleep is so important for healing so we are thrilled to see his body start to relax. We have also noticed his arms starting to relax and are not as tense and stuck next to his ears all the time. Not only does this make me so happy to see but I know his body has to be feeling so much better not holding all the tension like he was. His head control is definitely improving and his eye contact is really starting to come back. This is exactly what needs to come back first in this process. I have to think of Levi like an infant again. We start with his head control, then we will move to tummy time and trunk control. It really is like a rebirth. We have to be patient and go through all the phases of development again to be sure that his body can relearn his motor skills properly. So, in 6 days I will say we are noticing some pretty great improvements. This team here cares so deeply and they really become part of the family. Levi doesn’t just have a team of doctors helping him, he has a fan club cheering him on. Everyday we all feel so lifted and full of hope that Levi will come back. They are not only treating him but they are supporting our whole family during this time. Looking forward to the next four days of treatments and then back to Indiana!
You're pregnant! 🤰 When are you due? This is one of the first question that gets asked after people know you are pregnant. Your OB or Midwife will typically give you a "due date" and that suddenly becomes our target. Did you know that only 2-5% of women deliver on their due date! 80% deliver between 38-42 weeks. About 11% deliver before 37 weeks and about 5-10% go beyond 42 weeks. So 2-5% deliver on the specific date that we are given and we make so many decisions on this date! At our office we love to celebrate each pregnancy and help mom and the family prepare for their birth month. Statistically baby will more likely be born on a day that is not their due date! When did you deliver your baby? Were they born on their due date?

This month is all about love and we are sharing why we love chiropractic!
I can't believe those THIEVES! No need to worry these are good thieves, we are talking essential oils. You might have noticed the office can smell a lot like cinnamon. One of our favorite oils to diffuse, use with cleaning products and personal care products is THIEVES! Thieves... Neutralizes and purifies the air from strong odors when diffused, and Freshens any atmosphere when diffused. Thieves History! In France during the 15th century, thieves would sneak into graveyards to rob from the dead and dying. Legend says they protected themselves by creating a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals. Today Thieves essential oil blend is inspired by those tales of old. How do you like to practice stress-relief?! During this life phase of having additional time at home and less human interaction, I personally find it even more important to practice stress-relief techniques! One of my favorites is practicing calligraphy and sending motivational cards to my friends/family in order to stay connected & brighten their days! Keep your eyes out for a hand-written card from the office to celebrate your next birthday or life milestone :-) --Abby

Let's talk about Sinus Infections...Snot Fun! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you struggle with feeling like Mr. Snuffleupagus when the weather changes?!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have suffered from sinus infections whenever the seasons change for as long as I can remember...I have made quarterly visits to Urgent Care for years to get medication to treat my symptoms. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But, I can honestly say that I have noticed far less sinus infection symptoms since I have been receiving regular Chiropractic care over the last year! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I genuinely appreciate the tonal analysis that Dr. Lindsey uses to ask my body what it needs before she adjusts me, AND the fact that she takes the time to analyze my sinuses whenever I start to feel a bit congested! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Regular adjustments help me to feel & breathe better than I have in such a long time! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you suffer from congestion or sinus pressure, just let Dr. Lindsey know, so we can help you to breathe better too! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ --Abby
Who has trouble saying no? 🙋‍♀️ Please, tell me I am not the only one! I am really good at saying yes to all things. I am also really quick to realize I can't do all the things I want to do. Despite me trying to do all things, some things get lost in the shuffle and self care can go to the waste side. The one thing that I have and will always be persistent on is my adjustment. That is one appointment I will always keep. As I spend my time with different Instagram and Facebook accounts I follow and podcasts that I listen to we need to spent more time listening to our body. We need to say no when things don't align and we need to honor our energy. So will I always want to do everything - NO. Will I always try to do everything - sometimes. Am I getting better at accepting and asking for help - YES. Do I expect someday that this becomes easier - YES. Do I spend a lot of time to work on myself to learn why I say yes to situations and why I want to do it all myself- YOU BET. We are always learning. I have really learned through this last year I know very little about myself, but I am really enjoying the person who I am learning about! What have you learned about yourself lately?
Who wants a quick fix? 🙋‍♀️ I get it, you aren't alone. But healing goes way deeper. Listen, there’s a time and a place for medication or surgery💊 The problem is chronic pain has become so common in our society, we are opting for the invasive and risky procedures before conservative care... when it should be the other way around! Luckily people are waking up to the reality that these “quick fixes” don’t SOLVE the problem. You behaved your way into the health you have right now, and the good news is with ✨consistency and patience✨ you can elevate your health again. 🙌🏻 WAHOO! Chiropractic is not a quick fix. It’s a lifestyle choice. It’s a choice to put your health FIRST. You only get one body. Prioritize it. Invest in it. Take care of it. You’re worth it!❤️

New technique? When I attended a seminar in September I was introduced to a new technique and new analysis. Talsky Tonal. My technique probably does not matter to most people as long as we are getting the results we are shooting for. Everyone has different goals but we are always striving to help your nervous system heal and function better. Adding a tonal assessment to you care we have started to look at the nervous system and your body on a different level. At this level we are looking to make adjustments where your body is asking for help. When we start feeling symptoms our body has lost the ability to adapt an heal. Our body is supposed to heal itself. We can add specific adjustments in order to restore the healing potential. You may wonder what the difference is between how we used to adjust and how we adjust now. Honestly, some of you may not notice a difference. We are changing our analysis but adjusting the same. We have completely switched some patients to a new technique, which is a pressure technique that has got great results with patients. If you are interested to hear more, lets chat about it at your next appointment!
What have you been reading lately? I just picked up Untamed. I am loving it! Fun fact, I disliked reading when I was younger. I would put my head on my desk and pretend to read when I was in reading class. I really found a love for reading when I was studying at Palmer. Now I read for fun, I read personal development, and I read a lot of science as well. What have you been reading lately? Anything you can't put down? Anything you would recommend?
Heads or tails? May the odds be ever in your favor! If only the position of your baby was just as easy. Fortunately, we know that baby positions are based on how tense or relaxed your nervous system, muscles, and ligaments are. We work with lots of mommas who are experiencing a lot of pain bur aiming to being as comfortable as possible. Chiropractic is a safe and gentle way to help guide your baby into a position that will give you a great delivery. Using techniques that are designed to align the pelvis, bring more balance to your low back, and relax your muscles and ligaments, we look forward to supporting you through your pregnancy. What questions do you have about baby positioning?
We are on week two of February, what number ear infection are we on? Ear infection be gone! If only it was as easy as waving a wand and saying a little magical sentence. Momma, we get it. It's tough seeing your child cry and telling you their ear hurts. It can make you feel helpless. It can seem as if the endless cycle of chronic ear infections will never end. But there is hope! And it lies in finding out WHY the ear infections are happening. Momma, we have answers you are looking for!
Did you know your body can heal itself? It is true! When you break a bone what happens? Most likely you get a cast. Then the two broken pieces come together to become one again. Does the cast heal the bones? NOPE! Your body does. What happens when you get a cut? A lot of different processes but your body heals. Our main focus here is to hear your story, understand your nervous system and do everything we can to help restore that healing potential. Our chiropractic team is here to make you feel at home and understood. Focusing on families has allowed us to build an amazing family of kids, pregnant moms and families who are well adjusted. Who wants to know everything they can about their life? I have been there. I want to control every part of it. I want to know exactly where the path will lead and if I could know about every high and low point that would be great. There are so many things that I thought I wanted when it came to my life and now looking back on certain situations and learning the lessons those situations taught me is exactly what was supposed to happen. I am learning the beauty in the unknown. I am also learning to trust in a universal that is outside of me. I know that I can't control all things, I HAVE TRIED. I know there is a path and a reason. We all have a path. We are all destined for greatness. What is your path?
Who loves the show Friends? One would say that I love it and can quote almost any episode. I still laugh at most jokes like it is the first time watching and cry at the final episode. The real point of this post is this is life right here. This is a puzzle that Phil and I have been working on. It is probably the hardest puzzle I have worked on. You can see the boarders are not done. As Phil mentioned the first time in his life he didn't have the boarder done first. I have to agree. We all want a to have a plan. We all want to know where a path will go. We want it to go the way we said when we said. But that is not how life works. we had to switch our strategy and tackle the pictures in the puzzle first. I learned very quickly that the completely the edge just wasn't going to happen. Pieces looked like they lined up then on piece fit seven places. So, we switched directions and now the puzzle is almost done. And you know what the boarder is still not done. I have really enjoyed puzzle to help work my brain in a different way and challenge myself. I was reminded today when Phil mentioned not finishing the boarder that life throws curves and it is okay to not know exactly where we are headed and to have to switch things up mid day!
We are SO thankful for all of the safe spaces and smiling faces that help to nurture our local little ones! It truly does take a village! Quick shout-out to our neighbors across the road for all they do for families in the Clive area! Step Ahead Childcare and Preschool

Expecting?! Check out these messages from one of our Mom's who delivered recently. We got to care for her preconception, during pregnancy and up until she delivered her beautiful baby girl. All moms are the bomb! This all-star was in full labor less than five hours and has been recovering so well since meeting her baby girl. When asked if I could share a the message when she shared about her labor, she said of course and added - "Chiropractic is one of the best things I did this pregnancy." She rocked this pregnancy and is a rocking mom of two. Did you add chiropractic as a part of your pregnancy journey?
Oh no! You have a fever - what now? Did you know that fevers are a good thing? Fevers are a particularly important part of the immune system. Fevers play an important role to increase the body temperature to kill bacteria and viruses. Creating an environment to make it so that they can not survive. Fevers do so much to help the body heal and fight. Fun fact! When Dr. Lindsey has is at the beginning illness and she gets adjusted she always gets a fever about 3 hours after her adjustments and usually breaks later that day. So cool to see the immune system pop into high gear to help kill the invaders. The truth is after every adjustment we can see a boost in immune function. We are here to work with the nervous system and because of this we also see a boost in immune function! Remember to make sure to keep your littles hydrated with any fever. Hydration is always important but very important when we have a fever.
Time to eat your 🥦! 🤨 well maybe not (again I take veggie supplements). We are going to keep today short and sweet. March is all about #healthybychoicenotbychance. They have talked a lot this year about how to be "healthy." Unfortunately, on they news they are going to say wash your hands - which you should do. Social distance and a few other things and this means health. Well they missed a few things. Sure you should wash your hand and stay home when you don't feel well. What about all we can to do prevent illness. We have talked a lot about those things and one of those things is making sure to eat a balanced meal. You have heard this, I am not the first on to tell you. Sugar feeds germs. Healthy food feeds your immune system. We are headed into summer and have a wider variety of fresh fruits and veggies available for us. Hit those farmers market and prime our immune system!

And who doesn't love to see the colors of spring with leaves budding and flowers blooming! The warmer temperatures motivate me to get outside and be more active, too! What is your favorite thing about Spring?!
The #1 least sexy but best immune booster doesn't come in pill form... SLEEP. According to the @mayoclinic , "Studies show that people who don't get quality sleep or enough sleep are more likely to get sick after being exposed to a virus, such as a common cold virus. Lack of sleep can also affect how fast you recover if you do get sick." Why? When you're asleep, your immune system releases proteins called cytokines, a type of protein that targets infection and inflammation. Sleeping less = fewer protective cytokines. Infection-fighting antibodies and cells are also reduced when you don't get enough sleep. Even more concerning is the fact that long-term lack of sleep increases your risk of obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. We used to think that you couldn't "catch up" on sleep, and American cultural norms usually view napping as "unproductive." In reality, taking a nap when you need it can be ONE OF THE MOST productive things you can do for yourself, but even more importantly, take a nap so you can be a better mom, spouse, co-worker, member of society, etc! What if you have a new baby or a baby going through sleep regression? Pump a bottle and have your partner or a caregiver take turns with night feeds and don't feel guilty if you literally need to take a break. You aren't being selfish, and "pushing through" isn't as noble as it seems. What are your favorite ways to get better sleep?
When you focus on the good, the good gets better.” -Abraham Hicks⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all go through different phases of life. Some can be more challenging than others. We get knocked down and we have our best days. When we choose to look at the good and focus on the good the more we get.
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Everyone talks about remembering to wear green on St. Paddy's day, but I want to remind you to EAT your greens today! What are your favorite green fruits & veggies?! I love air-fried brussels sprouts, oven-baked broccoli, & Granny Smith Apples! --Abby

Creativity! No, I didn't build this. But a rock star patient. There are countless reasons I love taking care of kids and families. Sure, there are many health benefits and getting them adjusted really gets me hyped up. What I love even more is the kids who cry when they leave because they are having so much fun. I love the older kids who still play with the toys even though they are "grown up". I love the conversations and creativity that happens in the office. I love the kids who get so excited to see me they run in looking for where I could be before their appointment. The office is a place where so much more than chiropractic adjustments occur. Life, creativity and learning happens and it is beautiful to have it in our life.
It's the time of the month where I introduce myself, to all the newbies. My name is Dr. Lindsey White and I've been a chiropractor for seven years 😮. The reason I went into chiropractic is actually not the reason I am a chiropractor today. I studied business in college, and then a conversation with college roommate and best friend lead to the statement, I should be a chiropractor. I decided to apply for chiropractic school but finish my major in business. I can say, though, that it changed my life 1,000 times for the better. The best part about my job is all the interactions with kids and helping a family enjoy each other and live the life they deserve. Helping women, men and families find joy and health. I wouldn’t change it for the world. I absolutely love what I do and if I had to stop adjusting tomorrow everything was all worth it. But since I love it and love caring for all of you, I hope I can keep going for many years!
Check out some of the benefits that Doulas bring to the labor process! We are ALL about making the birth process as pleasant as possible for mom and baby, and we are so thankful that doulas can help in such great, natural ways!
Who is the best? You are!! I feel so honored to have the most amazing patients and these pictures are only a fraction of who I see. Let's be honest many of you have seen the other pictures and many of you have never had your picture taken. I would love to say I have a favorite patient, but I don't each patient is special that walks through our doors. Being able to have so many people impact my life is amazing and I am so grateful to serve all of you. I look forward to the many years together. To be a fly on the wall in this office you would hear so many amazing things. Some of the stories that are shared are: ~ no more ear infections ~ baby sleeping all night ~ kiddos (and adults) no longer struggling to 💩 ~ less headaches ~ more playing with kids ~ less sick days ~ less pain ~ less pain medication used ~ no more IEP And more!! The beauty of chiropractic is that it works. Not because you believe it does. It works because we are restoring the communication between the body and the brain. We are allowing the healing potential in your body to work! It is absolutely beautiful and I am so glad I get to witness it and be a part of it. Questions about chiropractic care for you or your family member just ask! We are an open book!
Pregnancy and labor are beautiful processes, but they can be a bit overwhelming, too! Did you know that Doulas are trained to offer emotional, physical and educational support?! It never hurts to have another educated support member in your village!
