Did you know it takes 450 years for a discarded plastic bottle to a break down into the ground? Recycling one plastic bottle conserves enough energy to light a 60 watt bulb for up to 6 hours.
The Environmental Protection Agency reports that plastic made up 12% of the 254 million tons of waste generated in 2007. That’s more than 30 million tons of plastic in one year. Plastic materials can take hundreds of years to break down in a landfill so make sure that you recycle.
When you recycle your electronics, you do more than just reduce the amount of waste going in the landfills. You also help reduce the amount of pollution generated during manufacturing, and reduce the amount of energy it takes to make a new product.
Before we begin any project, we conduct a site assessment. We know that time is money, and we use those processes that extract the refrigerant quickly. For example, we use the shortest hoses possible, identify the refrigerant before we start, and attempt to recover from both the high and low side service ports simultaneously.
Did you know that the plastic used to house computer towers and monitors is ideal for recycling? Since it is already the right grade needed by electronics, it can be easily recycled into new housing for similar items.
