Letβs talk about maintenance and timing belts...
All vehicle motors are ran by either timing belts, timing chains or timing gears. These systems coordinate critical components of your engine to ensure your motor runs smoothly.
Timing belts are located on the outside of the motor and made of rubber. They are very susceptible to stretching, dry rot and cracking. Most manufacturers recommend performing a timing belt service on your vehicle between 60,000-100,000 miles (refer to your specific vehicle for recommended maintenance schedule).
If a timing belt breaks, it will cause catastrophic damage to your engine.
A timing belt service isnβt cheap BUT ignoring it will cost you much more. Cylinder head or motor replacements are inevitable if the timing belt or one of its components fails, costing you thousands! π°π°
Protect your investment π! Keep up on your oil changes & scheduled maintenance. It will keep your vehicle running smoothly and reduce your unexpected repair costs in the long run!
