Happy Adopt-a-Dog Month. According to American Humane "Since 1981, American Humane has celebrated “Adopt-a-Dog Month®” each October in an effort to help the estimated 3-4 million animals waiting in shelters every year get the loving, forever homes that they deserve. Be a hero this month and adopt a dog from your local shelter or rescue group." We would love to see your adopted dog below. 🐶
According to Red Bank Veterinary Hospitals, Fluorouracil (a human chemotherapy cream) is fatal to pets. It can cause unsteady gait, whole body tremors, and even death. If your pet has been exposed to it, immediately call us and let us know you are on your way and call Poison Control. If you have any questions regarding this, please call us at 317-578-4100.

Employee Pet of the Week (Briana, one of our Technicians): Hello, my name is Mr. Green! I am an Indian Blue Peacock. I am the color black shoulder with white eye. Female “Peacocks” are actually called Peahens. And if you're referring to both sexes, we are called Peafowl. I actually lose my tail feathers at the end of breeding season, which is late summer.

Employee Pet of the Week (Dr. Fitzpatrick, Internal Medicine Vet): Hello, my name is Rita, and I am a 2-year-old female Dogue de Bordeaux. I was brought in by the Hamilton Humane Society in September of 2019 as I was rescued. I was paralyzed at the time of rescue by a cause unknown and was brought to see Dr. Cross. Dr. Cross determined that I was permanently paralyzed. My family decided to foster me and ended up adopting me. At the time of adoption, I had mange, a skin infection, and worms, which my family treated with antibiotics, dewormers, and several baths. I was spayed laparoscopically by Dr. Vecchio and Dr. Tobias. Some things that I love include: food, toys, playing, my dog and cat housemates, and I even love walks in my stroller. Some things I hate include: my wheelchair and baths.
Little dogs = big(ger) dreams! Did you know the length of a dream can depend on the dog’s size? Smaller breeds have more dreams, but the dreams can be shorter in length. Learn more about dog dreaming here: https://bit.ly/2ZRw5Q5 #vcapets
