Did you know that VCA Centennial Valley Animal Hospital is AAHA Accredited? Do you know what AAHA Accredited is? Well the AAHA is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. Practices that accept the challenge of accreditation are evaluated on stringent quality standards that encompass all aspects of veterinary medicine—from pain management and patient care to team training and medical recordkeeping—and are continuously updated to keep accredited practice teams at the forefront of the profession.
Today, approximately 15% of veterinary practices in the US and Canada hold the “AAHA-accredited” designation.
Feline Leukemia

We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet!🐍
When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets
Have a wonderful day!!!

"Rescue Warrior Goes Big Until Longtime Shelter Dogs Go Home"
(MONTE VISTA, CO October 22) In honor of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month and to increase awareness of longtime residents in remote animal shelters Kacey Widetich is going to extremes and moving into Conour Animal Shelter on Thursday, October 22. Kacey is the Founder and Executive Director of "Relay For Rescue" and will be moving in with long term resident "Drools" who has been at the shelter in Monte Vista, CO. since November 6, 2018. Kacey will reside at the shelter and be "Drools'" roommate until he gets adopted.
Quotes:
"There are SO many deserving pets just sitting in shelters because no one knows about them. Our goal is to get them the exposure they need so that they can find their forever home before they begin to decline in the shelter."
"These remote shelters are so understaffed and just don't have the capacity to adequately market all these sweet pups. If my spending the night in the shelter for a few nights helps even one dog get adopted, I will have done my job. But I'm not stopping at just one-they ALL deserve a second chance at happily ever after."
