We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! 🐍

Today is Global Cat Day, a special occasion devoted to unowned, free-roaming “community” cats. These cats often get a bad rap but it’s important to understand that these cats aren’t so different from our beloved pets. As a matter of fact, many are living on the streets as a result of being abandoned by their families.
We've included some tips to help manage and care for the community cats in your neighborhood.
Helping these cats starts by being a responsible guardian! Spay/neuter your own cat and keep them indoors.

Meet five-year-old Scout! We bet you can tell from her picture that she LOVES a good photoshoot. What you probably can’t tell, though, is that Scout’s having trouble finding a home.
To her family at PAWS Chicago, she’s a perfect 10. Her former foster mom says “Scout was one of my favorite fosters and house guests!” We hear she’s even trained. But, despite everything she has going for her, she’s overlooked because of the specific home she needs.

Roxanne is this week's PAWS Chicago underdog. Despite her adorable smile and repertoire of tricks, like sit and shake, this two-year-old Terrier/Bulldog mix hasn't had a whole lot of interest from adopters. Roxanne can be a bit intimidated around new people but one she feels safe, she'll gladly sit on your feet for hours of head scratches.
