It’s National Indoor Plant Week! 🌿 Make sure to avoid houseplants that are poisonous for pets, like philodendrons.
Philodendron: Easy to plant, easy to grow and easy to eaten by a curious pet! One bite of this houseplant can cause burns to the mouth, drooling or vomiting. Watch out for snake plants and pothos for similar reasons! 🐍🌱

While lilies are beautiful, they pose certain risks for your cat! If the toxic petals or pollen are eaten by your pet, it can cause kidney failure or be fatal. 🌺🚫🐱

It’s National Indoor Plant Week! 🌿 Make sure to avoid houseplants that are poisonous for pets, like sago palms.
Sago palms: beautiful, but deadly! Because they contain the toxin cycasin, this can lead to liver failure if eaten. So to be extra safe, it might be a good idea to leave this plant out of your decoration scheme. 🛑🐱🐶

We got to meet Champ last week! We're all ears for this cutie!
Sprite here! Last week, I had my annual dental health assessment and cleaning. Check out my before and after pictures- like most cats, I don't like having my teeth looked at. But thankfully the team was able to sneak a peek and they sure were surprised at just how much tartar I was hiding! I'm feeling much better now!
We will be closed today from 12:30-2pm for our monthly team meeting. If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please call VEG-Tampa at 813-265-4043. As always, thank you for your understanding!
We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! 🐍
When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Today is Global Cat Day, a special occasion devoted to unowned, free-roaming “community” cats. These cats often get a bad rap but it’s important to understand that these cats aren’t so different from our beloved pets. As a matter of fact, many are living on the streets as a result of being abandoned by their families.
We've included some tips to help manage and care for the community cats in your neighborhood.
Helping these cats starts by being a responsible guardian! Spay/neuter your own cat and keep them indoors.
* In just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens! #VCApets

Cancer in pets is often treatable. If your pet has a bump or lump that’s pea-sized or larger, is painful or seems to be changing in shape or size in any way, it’s time to get serious about having it checked out. Early detection and treatment are key for the best outcome. Talk to your veterinarian if you have any concerns. #vcapets
