It's the weekend! I think BELLA is excited. Or maybe she is excited about getting a treat?
Today is World Smile Day. Do you have a dog that looks like they're smiling every time they get excited?
JETER is so cute. If you couldn't guess, he is an Irish Setter/Golden doodle Mix. You can definitely see the mix of the two breeds in this picture.
LUCY was being so photogenic that I think we tired her out from taking so many pictures. Who could resist such a cutie?
SAMSON is such a sweet, handsome guy. I think we tired him out during his wellness exam 😴
TOBY is waiting patiently for Dr. Graham to do his wellness exam.
NILLA was in recently for her wellness exam. She is having too much fun playing with a ball that we gave her.
I wonder how many of our patients go by these names as well?
This is Jessica with OLLIE who is a 17 week old Chihuahua Mix. If you see Jessica you should congratulate her...she is a newly wed! We are so happy for her to begin this new chapter in her life. Congratulations Jessica!
BREANNA was seen for some Pre-operative bloodwork in preparation for her upcoming spay. Her owner found her as a stray and she was very pregnant. She ended up having 3 healthy kittens. She now has a very good home and will not have to worry about having any more kittens. We are so happy she found a good home, she's so sweet.
BUCK is new to VCA Gettysburg Road. He's not so sure about this place, but did very well for his exam.
SNOOPY is such a cutie! He was adopted from the Humane Society about a year ago and is doing great with his forever family.
We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! 🐍
When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Today is Global Cat Day, a special occasion devoted to unowned, free-roaming “community” cats. These cats often get a bad rap but it’s important to understand that these cats aren’t so different from our beloved pets. As a matter of fact, many are living on the streets as a result of being abandoned by their families.
We've included some tips to help manage and care for the community cats in your neighborhood.
Helping these cats starts by being a responsible guardian! Spay/neuter your own cat and keep them indoors.
* In just seven years, a single pair of cats and their offspring could produce a staggering total of 420,000 kittens! #VCApets
Do any other cat owners have this problem?
TOBY was patiently waiting to go back to his people. He is always such a patient guy!
At 13 years old, SADIE is one of our more senior patients. She may be deaf but that certainly doesn't stop her from living her best life!
How about some Corgi ears for this Saturday morning? MATEO is slowly growing into his ears. He's only 10 months old so eventually his little body will catch up.
ROXY must have practice at giving her paw. I'm sure there was a good reward after this one!
TUCKER is helping Andrea greet patients today. We love when we can put our patients to work.
ROCKY wasn't so sure he wanted to come out of his carrier for his exam, but eventually realized it wasn't so scary after all.
We always love when LUNA comes in to see us. Her markings are so unique that she reminds us of The Phantom Of The Opera.
GIA is such a sweet girl. She had to have her right eye removed due to a really bad ulcer on her eye. She is doing really well now and was an excellent patient for her wellness exam.
HANK is owned by one of our technicians, Makiah. He was in recently to be neutered and she put a little suit on him to keep him from licking at his surgical site. He didn't seem to mind the suit and did very well after his surgery. He must know how handsome he looks! We love HANK 😍
FRED says that getting weighed is no big deal!
DUNCAN really wasn't as scared as he looks. He did great for his wellness exam with Dr. Graham.
DWEEZIL thinks that if he hinds behind the trash can the Doctor won't see him. We played along for a little while 😉
CHLOE & GRACIE are housemates who were in recently for their wellness exams. They needed each others moral support so they came in together. I think you can tell by their faces that they were excited to leave.
ASTRO and ECHO are housemates who were in recently for their wellness exams. They wanted to go in two different directions so we had to help them pose for the camera.
Any other cat owner's feel this way?
NEBULA is such a sweet little kitten. I think she was mesmerized by the camera.
WILLOW was a little scared to see the doctor today, so Emily was trying to comfort her before going into the exam room.
MARVEL is a very exuberant 1 and 1/2 year old lab. I'm sure she sat very nicely for this picture because she was promised a treat!
LOKI is definitely all puppy! He is a Shepherd Mix, if you couldn't tell by those ears!
Meet HERBIE. He was recently adopted from the Humane Society and is doing very well since going to his forever home. His owner reports he loves to cuddle and gets very worked up over the squirrels in the yard. He is such a handsome boy!
We have been seeing a lot of new puppies lately, so I think we probably have a lot of clients that are saying this multiple times a day!
Has anyone come home to something like this before?
OLLIE is quite the character. He is an 18 week old Chihuahua Cockapoo Mix.
ROXY says Happy Saturday everyone!
MOOSE is so cute in his yellow collar. Look at those big eyes...he was really interested in the camera!
This Thanksgiving may be a little different, but we wish you and your family a blessed day.
BO and AXEL were in recently for their wellness exams. They had to come in together for moral support and they both did very well!
BRUCE was just hanging out on Emily's shoulder. We love his different colored eyes!
BOOMER is waiting patiently for the next person to open the door to let him back out to his car.
SHADOW was giving a very mischievous grin for his photo. He was a very good boy despite that look.
COLE was recently adopted from the Humane Society. He is such a handsome boy and we are happy that he has found his forever home ❤
SADIE was such a good girl for her wellness visit. She was so polite and sat so nicely for us.
FRED was very fixated on something...most likely a treat!
BELLA was so excited to get her picture taken that we couldn't get a picture without her tail in motion!
COUGAR has such a big name for a little dog!
ARTHUR wants to wish everyone a very happy weekend!

MOOSE, who is on the right, and GUPPY, on the left, are housemates. It's easy to guess who the more adventurous one is??

FEZZIK is such a big, handsome kitty. Because of his size he was named after Fezzik, the giant from the movie The Princess Bride. I think his name suits him very well.
We caught RASCAL mid-lick....he must have gotten a tasty treat for being such a good boy.
CHLOE hopes everyone has a nice relaxing weekend!
BAILEY was all ready for Santa today with her cute outfit. We hope Santa was good to her today.

When taking your dog on a winter walk, make sure to wipe off any snow, ice or slush that may have stuck to their paws, legs and stomach—as this can irritate their skin! ❄️🐶#vcapets
Who loves puppy day! We do! BELLA is the cream colored Golden Retriever on the left and ZOEY is the yellow Labrador Retriever on the right.
LEIA was named after Princess Leia...I wonder if she is really a princess at home?
BLUE has such beautiful eyes....they are very mesmerizing.
LILLY was such a sweet girl for her wellness appointment. She was even showing us some of her tricks.
CHLOE looks like a miniature chewbacca. She is so cute in her little pink dress.
Jessica has her hands full with housemates DAISY and BO. Both kitties were adopted from Furry Friends Network and are enjoying their furever home.
SNARF loves to come in to see us in his cat-in-the-bag carrier. He does not like being put into an actual carrier, but does really well in this cat bag. If you have a kitty that does not like being put into a carrier, this may be a better option. https://www.cat-in-the-bag.com/

Happy Monday...we can do this!
COLBY is one of our senior patients who comes to see us quite often. He gets extra special attention at every appointment. COLBY usually comes with a cart attached to his back legs because he can not use his back legs due to a spinal injury. When he has his cart attached we have a hard time keeping up with him.... he zooms all over the office!
BLOXSIE and CINNAMON MUFFIN are 17 week old kitties who were in for their very first kitten wellness exams. Thank goodness for their different colored collars, otherwise we would have had a hard time figuring out who was who.

Today is "eat ice cream for breakfast day". I think this is a day we can all enjoy!
Now how can we celebrate this?
*Have fruit ice cream instead of breakfast fruits.
*Top your pancakes with ice cream.
*Are you used to having bacon for breakfast? What about making bacon ice cream for breakfast instead?
*Or just simply replace all your breakfast food with ice cream!
Anyone else have a cat who seemed to have gotten them selves in an awkward situation? We would love to see your pictures 😂
GINGER may not look it, but she really is happy that it is finally Friday! She is another cat that just doesn't like being in a cat carrier so her owner's put her in a cat bag. The cat bag makes them feel nice and cozy and decreases their stress level. (PSA...we were standing right beside her, she was in no danger of falling off the counter)
ARTHUR knows how to stay warm in this cold weather. His sweater is so cute and cozy.
Today is "Thank your mailman day". Say hello to your postal worker and thank them for their service.
If you are unable to meet them in person, think about leaving a little thank you note for your mail carrier in your mailbox?

BELLA is so sweet and cuddly she just had to be perched up on the technicians shoulder.
Some good lessons to keep in mind :)
TUTU is waiting patiently for the doctor. TUTU is a Papillon, they are one of the oldest of the toy spaniels and it derives its name from its characteristic butterfly-like look of the long and fringed hair on the ears.
KALANI is a Blue Merle Australian Shepherd. I think anyone could give in to that sweet face.
Meet this precious little girl...her name is GYPSY and this is her first puppy wellness exam. She is an 11 week old Brittany Spaniel and we can not wait to watch her grow!

The difference between a cat and a dog.....that's all that needs to be said 😂
NEBULA was not amused with having her picture taken, but what cat is? Despite that she did very well for her exam.
KELCE looks a little worried but she did wonderful for her wellness exam. She was so cute in her colorful jacket.
Happy Weekend!
A little Friday night humor 😆
PJ is trying to contain his excitement...it's finally Friday!!
Meet HUCK and FINN. They are not from the same family, but we thought it was funny that they both came in within the same week.
It’s daylight saving time! While we may be losing an hour in the morning, the days are about to get way longer, which means more time to spend outside with your pets. Who’s up for a game of fetch!? ⛹☀️#vcapets
CALVIN says "give me a high five...it's the weekend"
Happy Friday! Here is a little squirt to put a smile on your face to end out the week. TIPI is such a sweet girl. We always love seeing her when she comes in.
We're so close....
OREO didn't care that she was at the vet, she was just happy to be around people and couldn't keep her tongue to herself 😂 Don't worry...we are use to dog drool!
SANDY was a little nervous for her wellness exam with Dr. Graham, but she did very well and got a clean bill of health, which makes us happy!
Hopefully your Friday night is as laid back as BUDDY was for his wellness exam.
SUNNY is just hangin out while we get his things together before taking him out to his family. SUNNY is a very sweet 8 month old Golden Retriever. We have loved watching him grow.
MILADY was excited to see us despite the look on her face. She was a really sweet girl and did very well for her exam. That face though...😂
OSCAR was such a sweet kitty that both Emily and Jess needed some cuddles from him.
Jess owns a German Shepherd, so she is always drawn to our German Shepherd patients when they come in. Here is Jess with SCHATZIE and VADER.
May the "luck of the Irish" be with you on this St. Patrick's Day, however you may celebrate. Your pets are probably hoping you don't celebrate by dressing them up!
SASCHA was ready for her close up!
Who's a Mama's Boy? I guess ARCHIE is according to his collar. He was such a sweet little Whippet we can definitely see how he could be a Mama's boy.
BENNY says...we're half way through the week...we can do this! If only we all had the energy of a Golden puppy.
MUFFIN and BLOXSIE are housemates who clearly have no concept of personal space. They just need comforted by each other when they come in to see us. I guess we are scary.
BLITZ was having fun playing with our squeaky hamburger toy. He probably wished it was a real hamburger.
Today is known as puppy day. A day to celebrate the love and joy that a puppy brings to our lives. Here is a picture of one of many puppies that we see on a weekly basis. This is WALLY! He is a 12 week old Labrador Retriever. Emily is taking advantage of the puppy cuddles before he is too big to hold.
