As cooler temperatures arrive, outdoor cats (and other critters!) are forced to get creative in their search for warm shelter from the elements. Often times, they will seek safety curled up on the wheels of a parked vehicle, or even under the hood. Take an extra moment to check under your car for any outdoor kitties trying to shelter themselves from the chill. Tap on your hood a few times before starting the engine to rouse any sleeping cats, and give them a moment or two to safely exit the area.

November is adopt a senior pet month.
Every year, thousands of pets are abandoned just because they have a little grey on their muzzle or are a little slower at playing fetch. Studies have shown that of all of the animals in shelters, seniors are the hardest to adopt out to new homes - and can spend up to four times longer in the shelter than their younger friends.
If you are looking to adopt a new family member, please consider visiting the San Antonio Humane Society and asking to meet some of their great senior pets who are looking for families to love!
