Happy Friday from Ozark and Calypso!
Tigger is popping in to say heyyy!!
BEAR needs a forever home!!! Bear is almost a year old, neutered & microchipped German Shepherd mix. He has one unique personality! He is so goofy with the faces he makes and he is extremely vocal - loves to talk especially around meal and potty times. Bear is house and crate trained. He is very treat motivated but he does have a sensitive stomach - so you can’t give him a variety of things. He is friendly with children and other dogs - not sure about cats. Bear is full of life and has plenty of energy. He is a great dog and does know a few commands. He is currently being fostered by a staff member here at VCA ILAH. Given the chance and the time he would be a very loyal, loving, trusting companion to any family. He truly needs to go to someone with children or a youthful couple just starting out - he will need training as far as calming down when it’s time for walks or feeding (excitement takes the best of him). Again he has the best personality and faces to match! He is probably between 80-90lbs. Please contact VCA ILAH at 803-547-7000 if you are interested in adopting BEAR!

We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! 🐍 When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets

Posting for a client: These little babies live in a car lot. They are about 2 months old. Extremely sweet and rambunctious, as any kitten, but are extremely affectionate and loving. They don’t mind being held or loved on. Trying to find them a loving home before the nights get too cold. Please email vcaindianland@vca.com if you are interested in adopting them.

Hi everyone! This is Willie! Willie came in last week to see Dr. Shaw! He was looking very pale and was very lethargic. Dr. Shaw took blood over a course of 3 days and was testing his levels each day. His levels were continuing to drop. Willie was then admitted into CARE animal hospital per Dr. Shaw’s request. He received 2 blood transfusions and lots of iv steroids. Willie was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called IMHA. His body was attacking his red blood cells and killing them off. After getting his transfusions and iv steroids, he came back to visit Dr. Shaw. His numbers were fantastic and Willie is back to him normal self! As you can see, he’s a very happy boy thanks to Dr. Shaw and the VCA Indian land team!
Archie was a nervous pup at first but has quickly warmed up to our team and is ready for his surgery this morning!
Kevin wishes everyone a happy Monday and hopes everyone is keeping cozy and warm during this cold and dreary weather!
