A question we're often asked is... "Is my pet too old for vaccines?"
Vaccines should still be an important part of your senior pet's life. Rabies is required by law for all pet dogs and cats over 12 week of age, even those who live outdoors. Leptospirosis and Lyme disease can infect dogs of any age. Geriatric cats still need their FVRCP vaccination for protection against airborne infections. Our doctors make recommendations based on every pet's lifestyle and health but, in general, senior pets should still receive vaccinations and they generally handle them just as well as younger animals.
