We are monitoring all of the fires across Northern California and hope everyone is staying safe. If you have been evacuated due to a fire and need assistance with boarding your pet, VCA Animal Hospitals in Northern California are offering free boarding. However, due to Covid 19, capacity may be limited and some hospitals may not be able to take in as many boarders as they would like. If you are in need, please call the specific location ahead of time to inquire about availability. Thank you.
Boy! It's really hot out there! Practice good safety measures when visiting our hospital and anywhere else over the next week of excessive heat! Bring water for you and your pet to stay cool and hydrated while you wait, stay off the hot pavement for prolonged periods of time, and keep the air on in the car while waiting for your appointment. We apologize for the longer wait times right now while our practice is still adapting to these less than ideal times. Rabbit Owners, on August 4, the Los Angeles County Department of Public health announced that Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHDV2) was found in wild rabbits. This disease carries a 90% mortality rate and can quickly spread to domestic rabbits in certain situations. See details in article below.

On January 19, we were privileged to be the final destination of the procession of the many law enforcement officers and fire fighters honoring the life of K9 Officer Riley. As always, it is our honor to serve and provide support to the men, women, and dogs in blue who continually put their lives on the line to protect our community. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Sacramento Sheriff’s Office for the loss of K-9 Officer Riley and Deputy Adam Gibson. We have all truly lost two heroes and we grieve with you during this time of loss.

It's New Year's Eve and our hospital will be closing early at 2 pm to celebrate the coming new year with our family and to be home with our fluffy buddies! We will also be closed tomorrow, but will reopen at 8 am on Saturday, January 2! We wish you all a very happy and safe 2021!!!
