VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in partnership with the WALTHAM™ Centre of Pet Nutrition ( @walthamscience ) is seeking dogs that have either pancreatitis or chronic enteropathy (intestinal disease) to participate in the WALTHAM™ Biobank Project. The purpose of this project is to establish a collection of pet information and biological samples that can be analyzed to improve prevention, diagnosis and treatment of these illnesses. This study includes a simple blood and fecal sample collection along with a physical examination, all procedures are at no cost to you. If you think your dog may qualify for this study please contact our team at (203) 854-9960. Chronic enteropathy, also known as intestinal disease, is often associated with persistent signs of diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss or decreased appetite. If your dog has any of these symptoms please contact us today to schedule an appointment.

We know you’re so excited to go on some autumn nature walks with your dog, but for this #FallSafetyTip, make sure you watch out for snakes, some of which can be venomous! They’re preparing for hibernation and may be a little crankier if disturbed by a curious pet! 🐍 When walking or hiking, if something happens to your pet, be sure to contact your veterinarian as soon as possible. #VCApets
