In 1916, President Venustiano Carranza launched the call to elect the deputies of the Constituent Congress who would be in charge of drafting the Constitution.
These were installed in the city of Querétaro on December 10 of that year, at the Iturbide Theater (today Teatro de la República) and held sessions until January 31st when they finished writing it. On February 5, 1917, the first Political Constitution of the United Mexican States was promulgated.
Today we wish all of our Mexican colleagues, employees, supported employees, friends & family a happy and relaxing Constitution Day.
