Making the decision to provide white glove service backed by reputation and heritage, Vic and Amy Petrenko made the strategic decision to join Premier Sotheby's International Realty. Being lake residents themselves they joined the Lake Norman office where they have immersed themselves into the community and the lake lifestyle.
Vic served in the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of general officer and accumulated 30 years of experience leading large-scale, multi-disciplined global organizations. He commanded a battalion, the Division Artillery and a brigade combat team in the storied 82nd Airborne Division, as well as completing multiple combat tours. Moving 16 times while her husband was on active duty, Amy kept their children positive and involved in the community. Despite all of the moves between states, their children have excelled. Their son attended Princeton and Harvard Business School and their daughter attended Purdue and UNC School of Medicine. Amy helped three states understand the nuances of moving families in high school and was thrilled when those states signed the Military Children's Interstate Compact, which helps all transient students graduate on time.
After spending three years in Saudi Arabia, during Vic's last active duty assignment, finding a home for themselves around Lake Norman became the new challenge and adventure. Vic and Amy have found that helping clients with their real estate needs is fun and emotionally rewarding and that everyone deserves first class customer service.
Vic grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Phoenix, Arizona, while Amy grew up in Ohio, Texas and Indiana. Vic received a Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University, a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in organizational effectiveness from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Master of Arts degree in strategy and policy from the U.S. Naval War College. Amy graduated from the Miami University of Ohio and attained a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. Some mutual friends tried to get them to meet for years and finally succeeded when Vic was stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and Amy was teaching in Savannah, Georgia. The rest is history.
When not selling real estate, you will find them outdoors spending time traveling, biking, running, walking, boating, sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddling. Vic and Amy volunteer with Bethel Presbyterian Church and help with Habitat for Humanity and Bethel's Room in the Inn for the homeless. Amy volunteers with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, the Charlotte board of the USO and is the Good Citizens Chair for her DAR chapter. Vic is on the board of Patriots' Path and Patriot Military Family Foundation, nonprofit organizations that support service members and spouses in finding meaningful employment opportunities, building homes and providing service dogs for vets. Vic's work experience and negotiating skills as well as their unique history, will assist them in developing long lasting relationships with buyers and sellers.
