WHAT TO DO WHEN THE POWER GOES OUT Tropical storm Beta is moving northwestward at 5 to 10MPH. Areas of the VEC service territory are expected to receive tropical storm force winds and coastal flooding from storm surges. Our crews will be working throughout the evening to restore power as outages occur. We remind our Members that should you experience a power outage please call our office at 361.573.2428 or visit our website at www.victoriaelectric.coop to chat live with one of our Member Service Representatives. Please refrain from stopping our employees in the field as their priority is power restoration. If you see a downed power line, STAY AWAY and call your electric provider immediately.
As tropical storm Beta approaches we would like to remind our Members and Customers that Victoria Electric Cooperative lineman and Infinium Broadband Internet technicians are on standby and ready to respond should outages occur. Upon landfall we are expected to see storm surges and high winds. While our team will work in varying conditions once winds exceed 40 mph we will refrain from performing aerial work until conditions are deemed safe to proceed. If you have questions or concerns we will have employees available 24/7 to assist you via telephone at 361.573.2428 or live chat at www.victoriaelectric.coop. We ask that you please refrain from stopping our lineman and technicians in the field as their priority is restoring power. We appreciate your patience and will provide additional information as it becomes available.
