What can plant stem cells do for your skin? Skin cells grow and die at a surprisingly fast rate, turning over about every month. With constant assaults from free radicals, UV rays, environmental toxins, and debased nutrition, every time our skin cells turn over, they run the risk of damage and mutation. With age, stem cells become depleted and turnover rate slows down. The result? Visible aging, wrinkles, and less-than lustrous skin. Supplying the skin with a fresh batch of stem cells allow for the creation of new, younger-looking skin. Could scientists have found the fountain of youth? BODY BRUSHING 101
Body brushing is an invaluable way to detoxify the body by stimulating the lymphatic system to eliminate toxins and improve circulation. This ritual also helps remove dead skin cells, revealing smoother, brighter skin.
PREP THE BRUSH
Start with a dry brush. Rub a drop of a mild essential oil (such as Lavender) on the brush to clean it.
BRUSHING TECHNIQUE
Using light, sweeping strokes, begin at the feet and work up the legs, front and back toward the torso. Brush towards the center of the body to encourage lymph flow toward the main lymphatic ducts under the collarbone.
Brush up both sides of the arms and across the shoulders, and continue up the back and neck.
Finish with small circular strokes across the abdomen in a clockwise direction.
FINISHING TOUCH
Afterwards, massage Alpine Arnica Bath & Body Oil into the neck area and underneath the arms.
Ward off winter blues and support respiratory health this season with invigorating Balsam, Fir and Pine. This evergreen oil blend greets the mind like a walk through an Alpine forest.
