October 3, 2020 Yesterday, the Michigan Supreme Court ruled that Governor Whitmer does not have the authority to declare a state of emergency without legislative approval. This ruling impacts Executive Orders issued after April 30. The ruling does not take effect for twenty one (21) days. Notwithstanding the political opinions associated with the ruling and Executive Orders, we have been advised by our State Association to continue with our current practices until further clarification is received. We are heeding this advice and will let our families and residents know as soon as any changes in our current protocols occur.
