Virginia De Sanctis, PhD, is a neuropsychologist in the Department of Neurology at Lenox Hill Hospital who specializes in the cognitive aspects of various neurological disorders including epilepsy, movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, brain tumors and dementia. She also evaluates the cognitive and behavioral sequelae of traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurologic insults.
Prior to joining Northwell, Dr. De Sanctis served as a staff clinical neuropsychologist at NYU’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, where she provided comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations to patients with epilepsy and other neurological disorders.
Dr. De Sanctis earned her doctoral degree in clinical neuropsychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She completed her clinical internship at New York University Medical Center and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the NYU Institute for Pediatric Neuroscience and the Child Mind Institute.
Dr. De Sanctis has published articles in peer reviewed journals, has presented at national conferences, and is a member of the International Neuropsychological Society, American Psychological Association-Neuropsychology Division, National Academy of Neuropsychology and the New York State Association of Neuropsychology.
