Last Sunday was so crazy for us too. Greatful for the team we have even though our business didn't close we understand how difficult it was for our industry to fulfill all that demand.

This. This is the craziness that happened today at a restaurant. Yes, it was Mother's Day, yes, it's the restaurant's job to fulfill the orders. And yes, they tried their damndest to do so. And for most, it was too much to handle. If it was normal times, things would have been different. A full kitchen staff, host staff, servers, bussers, dishwashers, etc. But things are not normal. It's a worldwide pandemic. Lots of the staff are laid off, not working. Restaurants are working with skeleton crews. Not ready for the craziness that came today. Yes, it was Mother's Day, one of THE busiest days. But this is the first time working on this day during a pandemic. It was expected to be busy, but the busyness just took over, it was overwhelming to everyone. Everyone put in their all, but it just kept coming and it took them down. They were defeated. They had to close, people were and are still mad. If you've never worked in a restaurant at all, let alone on a holiday, you may never understand. These people put in everything they've got. The last thing they wanted was to close. But they did. Please try to understand, it was not meant to ruin your Mother's day. There was simply nothing they could do to keep up and fulfill every order. Just remember, they are all human too, going to work to try and help feed your families. The last thing they wanted was to fail you.
I couldn't imagine going through this.
