Dr. Valakh received his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pa. He completed his internal medicine internship at Cabrini Medical Center in New York, N.Y., and his radiation oncology residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa., where he served as chief resident and teaching lecturer. He is certified by the American Board of Radiology – Radiation Oncology.
He has been active in research at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Allegheny General Hospital, Hahnemann University Hospital and Drexel University College of Medicine. In 2011, he received the RSNA Roentgen Research Award for outstanding radiologic research. His scientific papers have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented at annual meetings and medical conferences around the country.
He is a member of the American College of Radiology and the American Society for Radiation Oncology.
