Over the past 5,000 years acupuncture has evolved into a complete medical system that can diagnose, treat, and prevent illness. It is a safe, effective, and painless way to treat a wide variety of conditions.
An acupuncturist will place single use sterilized fine needles at specific acupoints on your body. This quick and easy insertion stimulates your body’s energy, called Qi (pronounced “chee”), and unblocks any obstruction of Qi, strengthens your body, helps you heal from acute or chronic problems, and balance the body’s energy. Needles are generally in place for 20 to 30 minutes.
The number of treatments needed depends upon the duration, severity, and nature of your health condition. Two or three treatments may be sufficient for an acute condition, while a series of six to 15 treatments may be needed to resolve chronic conditions. Some degenerative conditions may require ongoing treatments over a long period of time.
Some relief should be apparent in two or three sessions or six to eight sessions for more pervasive conditions.
