Well. Jills List first week turned into 6 people being connected with their needed profession, that I’m aware of. I received emails, FB messages, and phone calls with questions about different people.
Did I miss someone you need? With the exception of someone to hang Christmas Lights, I had 5 people ask that and unfortunately I don’t....,
Did you know we send $100💵 to anyone who refers a full roof to us and we do the job. Every person who reaches out to us is asked “how did you hear about us” so that we can send these thanks yous. If you receive our name from some sort of licensed professional (Realtor, insurance agent, etc) just know that their standard of ethics does not allow for a kickback. We DO try to acknowledge them in a way that is allowed though...send them business, take them lunch for their office, etc....
Our favorite is when they get used for good. Occasionally someone will tell us how they used it, usually after trying to tell us they won’t be cashing the check and we ask them to pay it forward if they don’t need it.
Getting messages like this warm our hearts💕

If it seems too good to be true, it is. There is nobody in Cincinnati that is offering 50% off a competitive price. It’s financially not feasible, in our industry. AFTER 50% off, it MIGHT be competitive.

This isn’t just a problem for home builders but contractors in general. Building material prices in general are on the rise. We have already seen roofing prices go up on February 1st with projected increases coming again in April and at least one more this year.
So, if you have a project that you are budgeting for, I would add 7-10% quarterly to your budget to allow for increases. If you’re able to do your project now, or at least when the weather breaks, I’d suggest you sign and get it done. The material price increases are significant and your contractors won’t be able to absorb them all. Be kind to your contractors, it’s not their fault.
April announcement was put out last week. They are all claiming the same reason. Their raw goods are going up, availability is a problem, and plant shutdowns blah blah blah. Across the board, things are terrible. OSB is north of $30/sheet right now.

We got this message out of the blue last week. We are humbled, as we did work for this homeowner last April. To be thought of after this long means the world
Jill, just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you and Bryan. I just recently had work done at my house. The work is great. The owners of the company, great. Their workers were disrespectful and rude. You know that I love to make people feel welcome and I will have coffee and such. The one was so rude yesterday I threw him out of my house. I kept thinking: you guys work so hard to get business and it's so hard to find the right people who will actually work. This person even went so far as to talk disrespectfully of the owners/his boss. I pointed out that it was highly unprofessional to talk to me about your grievances with your employer to the person who hired them. Then, I called the owners.
You guys work tirelessly. If I could hire copies of you and Bryan for every facet of home remodeling or repar, I would pay extra. I kept saying to Doug Jill and Brian would never stand for this. In the end, the work looks good, but good grief the people will never come to my home again. I'll pray triple.
Thanks for all your hard work. They say if you have a good experience you'll tell 3 to 4 people, if you have a bad one you'll tell nine to twelve. I don't want this owner to suffer, so I'm not posting, instead I'm going back to the standard and telling you how much you're appreciated. I'll advertise for you any day.

Traditionally, we include 3 boards for sheeting, with every estimate.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, that is changing.
Due to the insane skyrocketing of wood prices, we’ve decided to start only charging for what is needed.
With all materials rising, we keep trying to find ways to keep prices as fair as possible for our customers.
Given the fact that 90% of our customers don’t need wood, we’ve decided to only charge for what is needed.
OSB was just over $8/board last year and we just received notification that it’s climbing to $45.50/board. Add that to the cost of labor for install and numbers can become uncomfortable.
We apologize for any inconvenience. If you are under contract, you are not effected. We will stand by our contracts. This is for new estimates and/or estimates over 30 days old only.

2. Clearly go over estimate on site
3. Follow Up
4. Clearly communicate contracts and timing
5. Stay in communication until the job is completed
6. Charge what we said we’d charge
