Waterbury Heating & Cooling, Inc. - Sioux Falls, SD January 19, 2020 at 9:25 AM · With this recent wicked snow and wind event, our heating, plumbing, and electrical service Departments have been overwhelmed. We appreciate your patience as our Techs are working around the clock to help the customers get the systems up and running! Some items you may want to check if you are having problems, or possibly help to prevent troubles. 1. Make sure your plumbing vent, furnace chimney, or furnace side wall pvc discharge vent are clear of snow. You should have 6-8” of clearance around the intake and exhaust vents. 2. Checks your furnace filter. Long run cycles accumulate more debris on your filter. 3. If you see icing around plumbing vents, run hot water in your drains to help the ice drop from the termination. The ideal situation is to get in your roof and clear away. 4. Check you basement for air leaks around the outside walls. Fill all minor air leaks. This may prevent frozen pipes.
