About

I practice as a criminal defense lawyer because I believe that the rights of all depend on the rights of one. As a result, each person’s rights must be vigilantly safeguarded against the powers of the state. An unfettered state results in the very tyranny our Founding Fathers sought to protect us against with the Constitution.

Wisconsin law has a zero tolerance policy for driving under the influence of marijuana. Other states, such as Colorado and Washington, have a low limit for the amount of THS that can be detected in the blood when pulled over. For these states, the amount that can be detected without getting an OWI is typically under 5 nanograms. To put this into perspective, here is a great infographic that shows how small a nanogram actually is compared to a grain of rice. All 50 states will issue an OWI operating a motor vehicle under the influence of marijuana. #waukeshacriminaldefense METALSCOALITION.COM www.metalscoalition.com

A majority of prisoners have the right to vote. However, they are unable to vote due to many reasons, such as being unable to register, or other arising confusions. The result of these circumstances is widespread voter disenfranchisement among individuals held in the prison system. Due to inmates’ possibly needing to register to vote, they are unable to, due to having their belongings (which includes their ID) confiscated before being put in jail. An additional obstacle is the lack of internet in jails, preventing many from being able to order absentee ballots. #waukeshacriminaldefense APNEWS.COM Voting nearly impossible for eligible voters behind bars

If you are charged with a crime, then probation, parole and extended supervision are all more preferable than a jail sentence. However, your freedom will still suffer no matter which of these outcomes surface. Probation, parole and extended supervision all require that you are supervised by your community’s Department of Corrections (DOC). There are certain provisions you must follow, such as paying fees for your supervision and asking permission to operate a motor vehicle. This is why it is paramount you contact an experienced lawyer to ensure your criminal charge does not result in your freedoms being confiscated. #waukeshacriminaldefense QOO.LY DOC Community Corrections - General Information
During an OWI stop, you may be asked to submit to optional field sobriety tests. The standard field sobriety tests include the horizontal gaze nystagmus, walk-and-turn, and one-leg stand. There are specific scientific reasons behind why each of these tests are administered. For example, the horizontal gaze searches for clues such as if the eyes jerk before they hit a 45-degree angle, with more intense jerking the more intoxicated the suspect is. According to Wisconsin law, it is illegal to consume and/or possess an alcoholic beverage with an open seal in your vehicle on a public highway. Any open container results in a traffic violation charge. If convicted, you will suffer a $100 fine. If you have been charged with violating Wisconsin open container laws, contact an attorney. The results may seem minor, but you are entitled to be informed of your rights and defenses available to you. Attorney Craig Kuhary has over 30 years of experience defending clients from traffic violation charges. #waukeshacriminaldefense https://qoo.ly/3a6zf4 https://wisconsindot.gov/Pages/safety/enforcement/faqs/default.aspx QOO.LY Wisconsin’s Open Container Laws, Penalties, and Consequences | DuiDrivingLaws.org
There are approximately 19 million Americans who have a felony record. However, many of those convictions are far from being serious enough to warrant a sentence in prison. Still, hiring individuals with criminal records is strayed away from by corporate America. Creating a fairer criminal justice environment could result in a more prosperous society of consumers and workers. In order for America to truly encompass a “land of opportunity for all” employers must first understand that the diverse pool of 600,000 individuals who leave the prison system each year could be the future of their workforce. CNN.COM Opinion: Criminal justice reform can start with employers who give felons a second chance
