Good morning everyone. I just wanted to jump on here this morning to share a little information to all of you homeowners who are getting your roofs replaced from the recent hail storm. Don’t let roofing companies or their sales guys lie to you about the best way to install a new roof. Hand-nailing shingles is the best way to install a roof. PERIOD!! FYI - I don’t know of any home builders who gun nail their new construction homes. The only people who gun nail roofs are restoration guys (because it’s faster and cheaper for them). If you’re truly looking for quality, please give us a call.
Good morning homeowners. Just a couple of words of advice when considering contractors for your roof replacement. Sorry for the long read but I believe the information is worth the read.
1) Know where the company is from and whether or not they’ll be here in 18 or 24 months if something goes wrong. There are a lot of out of town guys here roofing right now.
2) Know what brand of shingles they plan to install. There’s pretty big differences between brands in the weight of the shingles and how that shingle will perform over time. A lot of contractors promote a certain brand because they pay less for that brand, which puts more money in their pocket.
3) Know how they plan to install your shingles. A lot of restoration contractors gun nail their roof installments. But I don’t know a single home builder that uses that method of install. Kinda makes me ask why? The reason is simple. The contractors pay their crews less for gun installs vs hand nailing, which once again increases their profit from your new roof install.
