As many of our customers and the Webb City community know, Marcia Musgrove, the owner of Webb City Florist, has officially retired. My name is Courtney Smith and I have purchased the shop from her, effective today. Words cannot describe the gratitude I feel in my heart to take on this opportunity.
I found my love for floral design within the walls of Webb City Florist in 2013. Marcia has been a lifelong family friend and hired me to do work around the shop while I was in college. I worked alongside the amazing Loretta Parker, Marcia, and MANY other talented floral designers in my time there. Since then, I have been doing freelance special event floral design independently, while helping at Webb City Florist when I could.
I can’t believe that this opportunity has finally arrived. I want to take a moment to reassure our community that you will still be treated as family when you walk through our doors. We will be there to serve our customers in every stage of life, whether it be the birth of a baby, an anniversary, the holidays, a wedding, or the death of a loved one. Kindness has always, and will always be, a pillar of how we do business at Webb City Florist.
I have been asked by many whether the name of the business will change. I can confidently say that I haven’t considered that to be even a remote possibility. Webb City Florist is a piece of history, and I will do everything within me to preserve it. It’s longevity holds a significant place in the hearts of our customers, and community. Will I try to consistently improve and grow? Absolutely. But I will never change the key pieces that makes Webb City Florist what it is: Kindness, Compassion, and Quality.
I am so proud to follow the “best of the best” in my journey to run this shop, and hope that you will be proud of what we offer you.
