Scleral lenses vault over the cornea and rest on the white of the eye, the sclera. There’ll be no additional aches for the cornea as it recovers from a transplant or if you had a corneal abrasion.
Vision impairment and blindness are among the top five causes of disability in older adults. If you’re not convinced you should have regular eye exams, consider that some of the more serious age-related eye diseases—like glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic eye disease—may have no warning signs or symptoms in their early stages. On the bright side, it’s nice to know that healthy living not only adds years to your life, but also protects your vision as you get older. https://bit.ly/2DGkwmH
This is Scarlet, Dale's daughter. These sunglasses look great on her, don't you think? We love the frame shape - very stylish! 😍😎
Follow-up appointments are essential for patients who've been fitted with scleral lenses. Don't forget to schedule your follow-up appointment to prevent corneal scarring or infection — we're here to keep your eyes healthy!
Aging is a process that brings many changes. Vision loss and blindness, however, you do not have to be one of them. There are several simple steps you can take to keep your eyes healthy for the rest of your life. Eat a healthy, balanced diet, don’t smoke, always wear sunglasses which provide protection from UV rays when you’re outside, and visit us for a comprehensive eye exam on an annual basis.
Are objects at a distance or close by appearing blurry? If so, it's definitely time for an eye exam! Visit our website to schedule yours today.

See how the cornea in this diagram is misshaped? No worries. Scleral contact lenses vault over the cornea, making them perfect for those with keratoconus and other corneal irregularities.
Contact lens safety tips - Always wash and thoroughly dry your hands before handling contact lenses. Eyes naturally tear up to provide lubrication and comfort, but sometimes we don’t produce enough tears or tears of sufficient quality to keep our eyes moist. Presbyopia can be easily detected and corrected. Ask your eye doctor about progressive lenses or multifocal contacts to help you enjoy your daily activities with ease.
Do not overwear your contact lenses - be sure to discard and replace them as directed. Even if you care for your lenses as directed, lens deposits continue to build up on your contacts over time. The longer you go before replacing your lenses, the greater potential these lens deposits have to reduce the oxygen supply to your corneas and damage your eyes.
Cataracts cause blurry vision and, if left untreated — blindness. According to studies, cataracts are expected to affect more than 50 million Americans by the year 2050. While age, heredity, and medical history increase your risk of cataracts, you can proactively reduce those risks. VIMEO.COM How to Reduce Your Risk of Cataracts

As you prepare to chef-it-up this holiday season, keep this in mind as you chop up your next onion! A cut onion releases a gas called Propanethiol S-oxide, and when mixed with certain enzymes in the onion, it creates a sulfur gas that irritates the eyes and triggers your tear glands. Here's a tip: keep your onion refrigerated! Cold onion doesn't release that chemical compound as easily as it would if it were warm.

Low vision is when even with regular glasses, contact lenses, medicine, or surgery, people have difficulty seeing, which makes everyday tasks difficult to do. Most people with low vision are age 65 or older. The leading causes of vision loss in older adults are age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataract, and glaucoma. Among younger people, vision loss is most often caused by inherited eye conditions, infectious and autoimmune eye diseases, or trauma. Low vision is a vision problem that makes it hard to do everyday activities. It can’t be fixed with glasses, contact lenses, or other standard treatments like medicine or surgery. March is Save Your Vision month! One tip – Know your family’s eye health history. Talk to your family members about their eye health history. It’s important to know if anyone has been diagnosed with an eye disease or condition, since many are hereditary. This information will help to determine if you’re at higher risk for developing an eye disease or condition. #saveyourvisionmonth #knowyoureyehealthhistory #tupelo #mississippi #eyecare #eyewear
March is Save Your Vision month! Another great tip to protect your eyes and vision is to always wear good sunglasses when you’re outside. Sunglasses can be fun fashion, but their most important job is to protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Ask us about our sunglasses! We’ll always recommend sunglasses which provide adequate protection from UV rays to protect your eyes. #saveyourvisionmonth #weargoodsunglasses
March is Workplace Eye Wellness month. Did you know up to 20 percent of work-related eye injuries cause temporary or permanent vision loss? If you work in manufacturing, construction, landscaping or are around harmful chemicals, it’s very important to always wear safety glasses. #workplaceeyewellness
March is Save Your Vision month! Your eyes are an important part of your health. Make sure you schedule your comprehensive eye health exam this year! You may think your vision is fine or that your eyes are healthy, but a comprehensive dilated eye exam is the only way to really be sure. When it comes to common vision problems, you may not realize they could see better with glasses or contact lenses. Many common eye diseases often have no warning signs. A dilated eye exam is the only way to detect these diseases in their early stages. #saveyourvisionmonth #eyeexam #tupelo #mississippi
Are your glasses not able to give you clear vision? Does your eye doctor keep saying "This is the best we can do"? Sounds like a corneal disease that requires more advanced treatment like scleral lenses!
