We are so excited to share that Dr. Melinda Chan will be joining Dr. Jo & the rest of the team here at West Aurora Family Dental! She comes with a wealth of knowledge & experience, and we're happy to share that by adding her to the team we will be able to offer additional hours to accommodate your busy schedules.

Hello everyone! My name is Dr. Melinda Chan, and I am very excited to join the team here at West Aurora Family Dental. I am originally from New Jersey. I fell in love with Chicago during my undergraduate studies at Northwestern University. After graduating with a double major in Biology and Psychology, I completed my dental education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
After graduation I worked for several years in private practice in Oak Park, IL. I loved getting to know my patients and their families; I look forward to doing the same in Aurora. I believe that a positive relationship with my patients allows me to guide them to the treatment decisions that best suit their needs.
Dentistry allows me to combine problem solving, fine motor skills, and artistry. I value providing a necessary service to people. I love that my work allows me to interact face-to-face with people and keeps me from being in front of a computer screen all day.
My husband and I are raising our two young daughters in Naperville. I love food (but not necessarily cooking!) and watching/reading Harry Potter over and over again. I am a huge fan of snail mail and making lists.
I am excited to share that the office will now be offering additional evening hours and Saturdays to help accommodate your busy schedules. I look forward to meeting each of you personally!

It's Dental Assistant Appreciation Week!
Here at our office we are thankful every day for our dental assistants, but this week especially we are making a point of celebrating and appreciating them for all they do not just for Doctor but for all of us. We appreciate you!
It's National Dentist's Day! Today is recognized as a day to show appreciation and thanks for your dentists, as well as to remind you to care for your teeth!
Our office is happy to celebrate our doctors - Dr. Jo Janckila & Dr. Melinda Chan!
Ways we recommend celebrating include:
-Commit to better dental habits
-Raise awareness about the importance of dental health. This can be through teaching your kids a toothbrushing song or referring your friends & family to your dentist to improve their health
