This year it also lands on Hug Your Hound day! Hug your hound a little tighter and show them a little extra love today. Maybe bust out an extra helping of their favorite treat! (I guess don’t forget the kitties either 😽-I don’t think the doggos will mind too much!)

Everything we do is for them! We want our pet’s to live forever, and it hurts to know they don’t. All we can do is shower them in all the love we have while they’re here with us.

Aya has been a licensed technician with us since 2013! She absolutely loves patient care and hands on treatments here at WCV. It brings her joy to see her sick patients become healthy and happy again ❤️
Aya loves finding new places to eat, new places to shop at, and new bars to try out- although COVID has made that a little difficult, her cats don’t mind. If she’s not snuggling your pet at WCV, she’s snuggling her own at home! Her cats Kiki and Haku live their best lives with Aya, as they’re both rescues! They keep her on her toes with their rambunctious ‘tudes 😼

Happy Thursday West Chelsea family: meet Candace!
Candace has been an LVT (licensed veterinary technician) since 1995 and has worked with us at WCV since June of 2004! In 2015, she became specialized in dentistry and is now an LVT, VTS (veterinary technician specialist)! She is dedicated to advancing dentistry knowledge here at WCV. She has a vast knowledge base of dental diseases to help educated our clients on the importance of oral health and explain potential doctor performed treatments.
When Candace isn’t at our dental tables, you could find her traveling or on a cruise (pre-COVID, of course) or, more recently, somewhere in nature, either camping or hiking- fully enjoying the sights and sounds.

Hey West Chelsea Family!!! Meet Katrina!
When she isn’t knitting matching sweat bands for herself and our patients, you’ll find her being hands on with all of the animals. She loves being able to work directly with the all the fur babies that walk through the door.
She particularly likes placing intravenous catheters because she knows the patient will get intravenous medications to immediately help them feel better. She also enjoys phlebotomy because finding out what’s wrong is half the battle and blood can tell us a lot! Katrina is responsible for making sure the sick kitties and doggies are being well taken care of when they’re with her. She loves being in the mix of it all!

Hi West Chelsea fam- Meet Jen!
She’s a licensed veterinary technician and has been with us since March, 2015! She finds herself enjoying surgical procedures at WCV, where she’s responsible for properly monitoring your fur baby while they’re under anesthesia. This includes their overall safety while the doctor performs the surgical procedure. To mention a few responsibilities, she’s monitoring their heart rate, understanding electrocardiogram readings, capnography, taking blood pressures throughout, maintaining intravenous fluids, troubleshooting if anything seems amiss, and ensuring smooth and safe induction and recovery. Jen is the first one your little one sees when waking from anesthesia- she’s usually greeted with a wagging tail!
She also loves camping with her pup Pixie on her days off! If she’s not in our surgical suite, you’ll probably find her in the woods by a campfire or hiking!
