With everything going on in the world 🌎 today, I created a learning pod in my office for my boys. They have been in school for 3 weeks now. We have a teacher present daily. I am lucky to have the space and resources to provide this to them. There is no other reason I work so hard, other than being able to give to my children. And as parents, there is no greater responsibility we have than to prepare our kids for the world. And I get the bonus of seeing them at work daily. I realize this is an advantage I have created for myself. I am self-made. And proud of being able to do this for them. I tell them daily that knowledge is power and the more you have, no one can touch you. No one. Love them. #raiseyourkidsright #educationmatters #prepareforlife #raisingkings #lovemyboys

No one would elect to have surgery where the surgeon didn’t wear a mask. This is because we are aware masks help prevent the spread of infection. Eight hours a day, multiple days of the week, for nearly 20 years. And my immune system is robust. Wear your mask. #wearamask #wearamaskplease #wearamask😷

“What happens when the world’s most prevalent non-communicable health condition and a highly infectious viral disease collide? We find ourselves in our new reality: a COVID-19 pandemic within a pandemic of metabolic syndrome.”
I have published a new article on Medium that I feel is one of the most important pieces I have ever written. I invite you to read it, share it, and tell me your feedback.

We started the New Year off right with a 5 mile hike through the woods. Here we go! New beginnings and a new year! #hike #hikeforlife #hikeformentalhealth #familieswhohike #familia #kidswhohike #kidswhoexplore
My patients always say that I don’t eat because I’m thin. The fact is I love to eat. And for that reason, I love to cook. It is important to know what is in your food. Food, used properly, can be your medicine. Pictured is the brunch I prepared for this New Years Day. Healthier French toast recipe by @nutrisensenutrition (it is delicious- check out her IG site), homemade GF biscuits, organic bacon, fresh squeezed lemonade, and farm fresh organic eggs. Happy New Year! #foodismedicine #foodism #foodislove #doctor #doctorskitchen #doctorsofinstagram #cornea
Cornea ulcers are considered an ophthalmic emergency. They are usually caused by viral, bacterial, or fungal infections, although non-infectious ulcers can form in patients with the loss of nerve sensation to the cornea. Conventional treatment includes anti-bacterial agents, anti-fungal agents, etc., and depends on the underlying cause. Vitamin C, administered orally or intravenously, has demonstrated extreme clinical utility in the literature, and should be given as a part of the treatment regimen. 500 mg three times per day is an example starting dose, although I have and do use much higher doses effectively. Oral Vitamin C should be given in divided doses throughout the day, as larger doses given at one time are not as well absorbed. High doses of Vitamin C should be given and monitored by a clinician skilled in the practice.
