Beloved clients! We hear you! Let’s talk a bit about curbside service. 🚗🏥🚙
We understand that you would like to be with your pet in the examination room, and we enjoy having you there, too. It's much easier for us to talk to you directly about your pet's health. However, at this time, we are continuing to exclusively provide curbside service for the safety of our team and you, our clients.
Honestly, it creates extra work for our staff, but we are committed to keeping everyone safe during the COVID-19 crisis and to protecting our client's health and safety.
The state government has put detailed guidelines in place for all businesses, not just veterinarians, and we must abide their guidelines.
We want to stay open and we want to care for your pets. In order to do this, we are taking every precaution possible to limit the risk and exposure for our team members and you, our clients.
Let’s make this work together. 🐶❤️🐱

It's Vet Tech week and no words, lunches or gifts could express how much we appreciate all of our technicians and assistants.
Fact: Buster is the cutest.
Fact #2: He’s EXTRA cute when marveling at the garbage truck! 😹
Vet Techs and Assistants have no job description, they do it all.
We are melting like BUTTER over this baby kitten! 🥰 Someone bring us some crab and lobster— we promise to share with the kitten. 🐱🦀🧈😍
Buster has an active imagination and sometimes befriends inanimate objects, like our recycling (or maybe he just enjoys licking plastic 😋).

Many of you are buying candy to replace the candy you have already eaten. 🍫😸 We aren’t judging, but here’s a gentle reminder:
🚨 STORE ALL CANDY OUT OF REACH OF FOUR-LEGGED FAMILY MEMBERS. 🚨
Chocolate has a strong aroma and dogs will tear through bags and jump on counters to get it. Clients have reported that their dogs have chewed Amazon boxes for Andes Mints and Dove squares. They can SMELL IT, and they WANT IT, we promise you.
If your dog ingests chocolate call us or a 24 hour emergency clinic for instructions.
You can also call the ASPCA Animal Poison Control hotline at (888) 426-4435.
Know the type of chocolate, how much you think they ate, how long ago, and your pet’s weight. Be extra careful with candy sweetened with artificial sweeteners like Xylitol. Again, call for help immediately. Let’s have a safe holiday. 🧡😊🖤

🚨MAGNIFICENT CAT IS MISSING!🚨
His name is YODA but his collar says Jody has our address and phone number on it. Yoda is 10 years old black and small in stature. He is very friendly and likes to hang out in the retention pond area behind our house Huron road and Michael drive. He also hangs out at our neighbors’ house on Scott court in the Ford Lake Estate area. If anyone sees this fella please call Valerie 734-756-7036. Thank you!

HELLO! 🎶 Meet Adele. 🥰 RUMOR HAS IT 🎶 she’s a very good girl and she deserves to be ROLLING IN THE DEEPest 🎶 treat bin.
We apologize for this corny post with dated song references. 🌽 😹
Buster tells this fish all his secrets. In addition to being his best friend, Mr. Fish is also his legal counsel and cannot testify against him due to attorney-client privilege. 🧡
Learn it, know it, live it— and when in doubt call ASPCA Poison Control.
After grapes/raisins and chocolate, we get a lot of calls related to dogs ingesting human medications.
The same dog who has to have his own prescribed medication buried in soft cheeses from France will snatch a naked pill mid-air. 🙄 Dogs, man; gotta love’em. ❤️🐶
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
Dear Extraordinary and Beloved Clients,
Please be aware that the clinic will be closed Thanksgiving Day and we will reopen Friday at 9AM. As always, we beg that you feed your pets responsibly- no bones, no skin, no chocolate, no onion... We also make this request on behalf of the carpet that you don’t want to spend all weekend cleaning.
We are thankful for you all and the patience you’ve shown this year as we’ve tried to do more every day than we would have ever thought possible. 🐾😊 Stay safe and be well ♥️🍽🦃

Hello beloved clients! 😺 This is important and there will be a quiz. OK- there won’t be a quiz— but please read it because we want everyone to be smart and safe this holiday season.❤️
🚨 FACT: Your dog will grow out of their puppy toys. This X-ray is of an adult dog who swallowed his puppy-sized KONG. The dog survived and the owners are wiser. 🏥Experience is a great teacher but sometimes a cautionary tale is the safer and less expensive option.
🚨 FACT: Dogs will eat non-food items—especially NEW things that they are investigating with their nose & mouth, like Christmas ornaments. 🎄 If your dog eats something crazy, call us or an emergency hospital immediately. Don’t wait and see.
🚨 FACT: Dogs love chocolate AND dogs CANNOT have chocolate. 🚫🍫 A client’s dog chewed thru a cardboard Amazon box to eat Andes Mints. 🙀 Keep the chocolate in the cabinet. If they do eat chocolate, call us or an emergency hospital immediately.

To our clients who feed their pet prescription Royal Canin food:
Due to manufacturer logistical challenges, many Royal Canin diets have become intermittently unavailable or back-ordered. Until we have a resolution, we want to ensure your pet has the therapeutic diet they need to remain happy and healthy.
If your pet is currently on the therapeutic line of Royal Canin, please contact us well in advance of running low to ensure we have more of your pet’s food in stock. If we are unable to get your pet’s food in on time, our knowledgeable team would love to work with you to determine an alternative diet for your pet's needs and review appropriate transition feeding schedules to suit your pet.

The internet is a weird and wide place that sometimes feels closer than your own backyard. This is no different when it comes to the vet world, or more specifically: clinic cat world.
I met the crew at Whittaker Road Animal Clinic virtually at first, through their OG clinic cat, Lucy. Fun fact: clinic cats are commodities in Australia but are harder to find around America - something I've learned throughout the years of being Ben's personal press secretary.
After Lucy passed, the staff adopted another office manager, Buster. Two years ago on my first trip back to Michigan in quite some time I made a point to stop in and meet the Orange Crush. It was one of the highlights of my journey to the mitten state. Their handsome tabby was debonair in welcoming me to his kingdom.
Clinic cats serve an odd purpose. They're square pegs in the round holes of hospital life: they comfort clients. They make messes. They step on your keyboard and then jump down to lie with an ailing patient in an exam room. They loaf on bags of prescription food; stick their whole heads in your coffee mugs; and chase empty pill bottles around the pharmacy floor.
Most of all, though, they support us - the employees.
They are staff members. Friends. Family.
After particularly hard euthanasias we cry into their fur or offer chin scratches and tail strokes. They remind us that life goes on, there are others to help.
Don't be sad.
So to the staff at WRAC: don't be sad. Everyone at MPPAH sends their love.
Especially Ben the Clinic Cat - 🐾
💕 RIP BUSTER 💕
🖤 It is with tremendous sadness and fifteen broken hearts that Whittaker Road Animal Clinic shares the loss of our incomparable clinic cat boss and bravest boy, Buster.
Precious Bubs brightened our long days and united the staff in the common goal of his absolute comfort. Bubbie would surprise us by playing hide-n-seek in the dewormer cabinet, catching rides around the clinic on Wendy’s office chair, and eating trash off the floor (so gross). He would politely listen with great modesty to made-up songs about the best orange cat ever. In times of loss or sadness, his quiet company was the perfect prescription to lift our hearts. The love he left the clinic is greater than the loss, and the WRAC staff will continue to immortalize the Legend of Bub. 🧡

Possible Police Impersonator Alert:
On Thursday February 11, 2021 at approximately 7:30pm a 26-year-old man from Ypsilanti contacted Washtenaw Metro Dispatch for a suspicious traffic stop that he was just involved in. The caller indicated he was stopped in the area of Prospect and Geddes by someone claiming to be an officer with the Ypsilanti Police Department. The vehicle that pulled him over had red and blue lights and the subject was wearing a hat with a star logo, black exterior vest with “Agent” on the front, and a badge.
When the caller asked the subject why he was being pulled over the subject was evasive. Knowing that the interaction was suspicious the caller drove off. The subject impersonating an officer then fled the scene. The caller was able to describe the vehicle as a newer model black Chevy Impala without a license plate.
The subject was described as a black male age 28 to 30-years-old. He was seen wearing a hat with a star logo, a black exterior vest with "Agent" on the front, and a badge hangin around his neck.
Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office confidential tip line at 734-973-7711.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION: Fred and Wilma are now available for adoption! These two are obviously attached and we would like them to go as a pair if possible!
Let me tell you a bit about them: Wilma is a dainty thing who will snuggle, but only when she wants to! She is curious in nature, especially when it comes to water! Fred is a big guy who is content to hang out in your arms, or on the couch! They are both especially snuggly and good with big dogs and other cats. They may even appreciate a house with children who will play with them! They are fully vetted and chipped. Please message me for more details and adoption fees.

🏆 SHOUT OUT to the Good Samaritan who called the clinic and alerted us to a runaway German Shepherd taking an unaccompanied pleasure cruise down Whittaker Road. 🙀 We are happy to report that he is SAFELY HOME thanks to the athleticism of the WRAC staff, ANNNND, most importantly, thanks to Khaleesi’s dad for attending our dog rodeo and helping us get this doggo to safety. ♥️🎉🤠
Today brave Senika was awarded a blue ribbon for Acts of Valor in the face of annual vaccines. She is an inspiration to younger pups who aspire to be the goodest. #GoodestGirl
From 9 weeks to 9 months, Kaz has been a complete puppy gentleman and we all love him. ♥️🥰🐶
Today marks the one year anniversary of the first Covid-19 case in Michigan. Whittaker Road Animal Clinic has been with you through confusion and questions about the virus, and for some, the loss of loved ones. Michigan is designating today to remember people lost to Covid-19, and we would like to ask our neighbors to join us and the rest of Michigan by turning on outdoor or porch lights from 8-9 pm tonight. Turning lights on is not a cure and it certainly will not turn back the clock, but it will show that we all care about our community. You all be safe and take care of one another. 👣♥️🐾

Beloved clients, 😬
We are still experiencing technical difficulties. Our phones and internet are... flakey like a biscuit.
If you are having trouble getting thru or if our call is disconnected, please bear with us. We hope that as these winds move through our area that consistent service will be restored. 🤞
Thanks in advance for being awesome,
Your friends at WRAC 💛
