The cold is starting to settle in, so here's a reminder to check your outdoor fixtures often. It's always better to catch a leak when it starts, rather than wait until your wait until your water bill is through the roof!
Check out this water repipe we are currently performing for a customer! He was experiencing foundation issues, so we performed a hydrostatic test. This test helped us to discover several significant leaks under the slab of his foundation. Instead of jackhammering the slab apart to repair the leaks, we opted to cap off the water underneath and run new lines in the attic with proper insulation and protective measures! In doing this, we were able to not only save our customer money and time, but make his water lines more easily accessible.

When it comes to plungers- not all are created equal! You may be surprised to find out that the well known cup-shaped plunger is actually NOT ideal for unclogging your toilet! A flanged bell-shape plunger is a much better tool for the job. Flanged plungers can also be used to unclog drains (but we highly recommend getting a second plunger for that to avoid cross-contamination).
