We recently celebrated a few of our late August and September birthdays with a photo booth, decorations, outfits, and cake! π One of our wonderful Members, Mrs. Boulware turned 90 years young and we had a fun celebration for her with family participating in a window visit!! The weather has been beautiful so our Members in assisted living have been enjoying the outdoors! βοΈ We caught one of our beautiful Members enjoying her book on the porch - the perfect way to relax and enjoy a September Day!
En Garde! π€Ί Who says that workouts have to be done in a gym?! Our Members properly distanced while fencing each other with noodles! It was a great way to stretch and get our bodies moving in a fun and unique way! π€©
We started September with the smells and flavors of fall! π Our Members took turns pouring, mixing and forming cookies! These ladies really god into making an assembly line and we had cookies in no time! The sweet smell of brown sugar and cinnamon filled our halls and it was a big hit among our Members! π We also had a few of our creative Members getting into crafts and painting with fall-themed artwork! ππ
This week our putting teams all competed against each other in our annual junkyard putting match! β³οΈ "Junk" was placed all around our beautiful putting green and members had 1 shot to make it into each hole around the junk! π Everyone enjoyed breakfast sandwiches, donuts π© with cider, and coffee to warm up before the putting began! βοΈ
Cardiovascular health is a crucial part of your overall wellness, especially as you age. β€οΈ One way that you can strengthen your heart is by incorporating swimming into your weekly routine. πββοΈ Swimming works to make your heart stronger and improves your cardiovascular health through the gradual increase of a steady heart rate and lowering of your blood pressure. Why are these two bi-products of swimming important? They decrease your risk of heart disease which increases as you age. π

Our Members are continuing to safely grocery shop from home! Our Social Director, Lena enjoys sitting down with our Members to assist them with choosing all of their grocery items. It's a safe way to shop as they don't have to leave our community and their fresh items are delivered right into their homes by our team! ππππ

On October 7th, we celebrated National Frappe Day! Frappe is short for Frappuccino, a frozen, delicious coffee beverage! Our Members enjoyed sipping these delicious drinks and getting a little boost of energy! βοΈ
Last week our Members in Reflections had a lot of fun activities to choose from!! Members enjoyed checking on the well-being of their plants as they continue to grow and thrive! π± We'll soon need to re-pot the larger plant into a new home! A big hit during the week was chocolate fondue snack hour! The chocolate dipped Oreos were the overall crowd favorite followed closely by the marshmallows! YUM! π« As always, everyone enjoyed painting in the afternoons, and lastly, learning how to place a new game of bowling dice! It was a fun twist on bowling and our ladies loved it! π³π²
#ThrowbackThursday to our Fall Festival! π We enjoyed funnel cake, chili cook-off, bluegrass music, cornhole, craft vendor, and a caricature artist! We had this event in a 2-part series to keep with social distancing. Members who attended signed up for 2:30-3:30 or 3:30-4:30 time slots. Everyone had a great time! πΆ

During COVID-19, our social and wellness teams have gotten creative with activities and events that our Members can enjoy at a safe social distance! Whether it's a game night, wellness class, walk-up/drive-thru dining experience or live music, our Members have a variety of safely distanced activities and events to choose from each day!
On Friday, we celebrated Halloween with a 'Thriller' line dancing class by our Fabulous Wellness Director, Teka! π―ββοΈ We went right into our costume contest and enjoyed delicious 'mocktails' in cute skulls hand glasses. β οΈ
