We are proud to announce that after a year of rigorous training and preparation, we have officially earned Chest Pain Center Accreditation from the American College of Cardiology Accreditation Services!
Chest Pain Center accreditation enables us to provide better care to patients who visit our hospital with chest pain by enhancing coordination among all providers involved in the patient’s care: emergency responders, local EMS, our hospital ED team, the critical care unit, and cardiac rehab. By becoming one of only four hospitals in Oregon accredited as a Chest Pain Center, we are honored to have enhanced the quality of care for cardiac patients in our community!

As the situation regarding COVID-19 continues to evolve, so does our hospital’s response. Our top priority remains safeguarding the health and well-being of our patients, providers, employees, and community.
Effective Monday, November 16, we will only be allowing one (1) well visitor, per patient, per day. The decision to restrict visitors was difficult and made only after careful consideration.
We recognize that there are times when having a visitor or family member present is crucial and we will work to accommodate these exceptions. WVMC truly appreciates your understanding as we navigate through these unprecedented times.

COVID-19 Update: A Message to Our Community | Willamette Valley Medical Center
WVMC’s top priority continues to be protecting the health and safety of our patients, providers, employees, and the communities we serve. Like our fellow healthcare providers, we continue to be challenged by the concerning trend of COVID-19 in our local community and across the nation.
We have been preparing for the potential of COVID-19 in our community over the past few months, building upon the robust emergency operations plan we have in place and train for year-round.
We want to reassure our communities that it is safe to come to our hospital should you need care. We are confident in our ability to evaluate, manage, and treat you and your family. We stand ready to serve.
Willamette Valley Medical Center and LifePoint Health are proudly joining hundreds of hospitals across the country in asking you to #MaskUp. COVID-19 continues to sweep through our community, and we’re fighting hard to keep on providing quality care and keep our patients and employees safe and protected.
But we need your help. Wearing a mask is our best defense against the spread of COVID-19 until vaccines are available. If we all do our part and fight together, we’ll get through this. Together. #MaskUp www.EveryMaskUp.com
We want to send a large thank you to our local emergency personnel for their quick and thorough response to an electrical issue identified this morning in our medical office building. On behalf of all our staff, providers, and patients, thank you McMinnville Fire Dept, McMinnville Police Department, Amity Fire District, Dayton Fire District, and Yamhill County Emergency Management.
The issue was determined to be an error with an electrical sign and all are safe. The hospital has resumed normal operations and is safe to return to for care.
As we shift into the winter months, the chances of injuries due to slips and falls increases. While the dedicated Plant Operations staff do a phenomenal job of keeping our walkways free of ice, falls commonly occur when a person is getting out of their vehicle or walking in a parking lot. Listen to the experts and walk like a penguin to help you avoid that painful slip on to the pavement.
• Walk flat footed and take short shuffling steps
• Wear footwear that provides traction
• Step down, not out from curbs or vehicles
• Keep your arms at your sides and hands out of your pockets
• Go slow!
WVMC is thankful that you trust us with your healthcare, and – with your support – we are honored to be Making Communities Healthier. On behalf of all our team members, we wish you a happy, healthy, and safe Thanksgiving!

Our teams were excited to donate 5,264 pounds (over two tons!) worth turkey and hams to YCAP (Yamhill Community Action Partnership). We're honored to help provide a meal for those in need within our community!
Contact tracing is one of the key strategies to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities. If you get a call from a contact tracer working for your local county or tribal health department, we encourage you to answer the call. Together, we can stop the spread of COVID-19.
