Particularly apparent in the collages, the many layers of natural environment, coupled with geometric echoes of architecture, recall the aqua alta in Italy's Venice--how its visual and emotional topography rises and falls with the water.

Singularis includes more than a dozen large-scale abstract drawings in graphite and crayon, on paper and polyethelene. Filled with meticulously rendered horizontal lines, the austere yet intricate compositions remain free from any specific temporal context. Congratulations and many thanks to Peeler Howell and his partners who will carry on the gallery's name and work.
"Though we are going to really miss seeing our clients on a regular basis-many who have become such great friends over the years-and working with our artists who are like family to us, we couldn't have wished for a better scenario," said the Campbells. "We are excited to see William Campbell Contemporary Art continue beyond our retirement and look forward to the gallery's future in Peeler and his partners' extraordinary and talented hands."
Fort Worth Contemporary Art Partners has purchased William Campbell Contemporary Art and Gallery One Frames. FWCAP founders are Jadz Pate, Clayton Snodgrass, Tim Locke, J.W. Wilson, and Peeler Howell. Howell has worked as the Campbells' gallery assistant since August 2017, and will continue to manage day-to-day operations.
"Fort Worth Contemporary Art Partners has no desire to do anything fundamentally different from what Bill and Pam have created over the last forty-six years," said Howell. "We want to continue to cultivate the relationships they have created with the artists, clients, and customers, and anybody that has an interest in contemporary art, or art in general. Bill and Pam have been ideal mentors, and will continue to be so."
As much fixtures in the Metroplex art scene as their brick-and-mortar space, Pam and Bill Campbell have made an indelible imprint on the Fort Worth art community, championing contemporary artists and making their work accessible to a broad audience base.
Congratulations and many thanks for their successful 46 years and pillars of the Fort Worth art community.

I'm thrilled for Pam and Bill Campbell and the new group of owners at William Campbell Contemporary Art as the couple retires after 45 years and sells their Fort Worth gallery. We photographed them for the February issue of 360 West at their home, which is like a mini gallery itself. Peeler Howell, J.W. We are very excited to share that William Campbell Contemporary Art has been elected a new member of the International Fine Print Dealers Association (IFPDA)! The prestigious group, which includes more than 160 members from thirteen countries, consists of art dealers who celebrate and promote prints and the medium of printmaking, from old-world masterworks to contemporary pieces.
Pam and Bill Campbell have a long history of working with fine prints, and we have incorporated them into the gallery's inventory since its inception in 1974. Fine print exhibitions have included the works of Christopher Brown; prints from Crown Point Press, in association with the publishing of Ink, Paper, Metal, Wood: Painters and Sculptors at Crown Point by Kathan Brown; and most recently, prints by Alex Katz and Donald Sultan.
