Our office is dedicated to the preservation of our patient’s natural teeth. We are dedicated to excellence in endodontics (surgical and non-surgical root canals) and the highest standard of patient care. Our goal is to contribute to returning and maintaining form and function to our patient’s teeth through preventing and eliminating dental infections relating to the root canal system.
Dr Shira Ackerman graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Biology from Stern College. She graduated from NYU College of Dentistry where she was awarded the Eleanor J Bushee Award for Academic Excellence and Leadership. She was also inducted into the OKU Dental Honor Society. Her desire to help her patients by relieving pain and maintaining their natural teeth guided her to specializing in Endodontics. She received her Specialty training in Endodontics at the Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. While in her residency she received the American Association of Endodontics award for the top scoring resident research proposal. Her study of Cone-beam Computed Tomography Guided Endodontic Surgery was one of the top ten table clinic presentations at the Endodontic National Conference. Dr. Ackerman enjoys the everyday challenge involved in performing intricate dentistry while at the same time keeping the patient's comfort and experience a priority. She is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, North Texas Dental Society, DFW Endodontic Society and the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. She and her husband enjoy spending quality time outdoors with their two adorable children (that’s an objective opinion). She is an avid figure skater and is working on getting her two year old on skates!
