The thing MOST people don’t know about adult orthodontics....
It can be TRICKIER than it looks. This patient has an upper jaw that’s smaller than the lower. Picture a Tupperware lid over Tupperware —> and you grab a lid that’s slightly too small 👀 . When someone’s upper jaw is slightly small you often see the bottom teeth more crowded than the upper and they’re spilling out from under the upper teeth (“crossbite”)
The side bite you see “windows” like a gear ⚙️ not lining up right.

I treat a lot of complex adults....who often have NO CLUE that there’s SO MUCH more to teeth than how straight they are. I treat people for two reasons in order of importance: 1. Get the teeth in a healthier position so that they last longer (i.e. they will be less likely to crack/chip, get gum recession, and have fewer TMD issues) and 2. Because healthy teeth alignment + a healthy bite just so happens to go hand in hand with looking dang beautiful while boosting your confidence (research proves this).
